Actually, there is considerable argument that this Punter is not only not "crappy", but arguably the best ever. 5 pages in the thread, not one link to a Punter who is better. I rest my case.

i already posted my punter who is easily better than yours. 18 full seasons played, 15 trophies (back when you had to beat out 15 others, not 5), 8 gold, 6 silver, 1 bronze.. 5 of those trophies coming in pro leagues. my punter has a inside the 5 to tb ratio of 78 to 36, vs your 116 to 85. and just for fun, my 87 tackles vs your 0, my all time p ranking of 273 vs 39144, and mine did it all as a mere level 73. and i'm sure that there are punters even better than mine. so let the excuses commence.

So we are citing tackles as a stat to compare punters now? Is that where we have gone? Translation: "my team was hooorrrrrrrrribbbble and that's why my P is better than yours". Honkey, please. And then you ACTUALLY cite those figments of a Bort drunken wet dream all time rankings?!?! I thought YOU would know better. If you're going to all-time rankings, you've already lost. Unless, of course, you're prepared to tell me the exact wizardry behind them, which you can't. The ONLY thing I know about those rankings is that they heavily weigh and reward earlier dots. Dots from seasons 1-20 are all over the top 100, while FAR better dots from season 50 are at 50,000. This is for all positions.

It would have closed the thread if it would have proven anything. The best I can muster here is that these two punters are neck and neck for an "overall comparison". I'll explain, but before I do thanks for being the first person to show some rationality and quality here!

Ok. So most statistical categories where Christy is better than Finkle are volume stats. Christy had almost a thousand more punts than Finkle, so comparing the raw number of inside 5, 10, CC, Etc becomes futile. To be honest, once you weigh the vast difference in punt volume, those stats actually favor Finkle.

Career punt average and quality seasons at or above 50ypp favor Christy no doubt. So for an overall assessment, weighing PROPERLY the volume stats versus individual awards versus MVP versus YPP and such, these two shake out in a wash.
