OFFICIAL PSA FOR GLB2SCOUT
Hey guys/gals,
Those of you know who know me and have talked to me know I take pride in making sure things work and having a smooth running tool. Also, I am not here to take advantage or scam in any fashion. With that said it is with a heavy heart that I have to tell you the bit of bad news of what has happened. No, GLB2Scout is not going away, but rather we just got punched in the nuts by Helga the MySQL admins.
I take full responsibility for what happened here. Back in July I was given notice by the Hosting MySQL admins that the database was too large for shared hosting and I had the option to either get it below 1GB and maintain my hosting, move to a VPS solution or get shut down. At that time I spent numerous hours backing data up and clearing out the database to limit the overhead of historical seasons. I go the database to around 500mb and was in the clear and they removed the restrictions. This brings us to last week. February the 9th the database was not accessible and after many many hours on the phone with hosting support no one could give me an answer and I was given the indication they locked me out possibly due to the database size again and its with Helga and her cronies on the MySQL admin team. Last night I got notification from Helga, that she shut my database down and there are no backups and I am up schits creek. No lube, no thank you, just got rammed. Yes you heard me right, the whole database that houses all play data, scout data, user data etc.... is gone. Let that sink in for 2 seconds...

What's that you say? Just restore the local/remote backup? Yes... you are right, I should do that, but apparently this guys is a FUCKING idiot and hasn't done a full backup since February of last year.....
What does this really mean?
I had to recreate the whole database from an old backup which is missing data that is very important for users access as well as certain columns were missing from development over the year. I have since done that now, everything should be stable again.
What was lost?
Everything was lost.... lets just start with that. I have no idea who had what access. What I do know is via paypal and external logging, I know who paid by their paypal email address and the data so given that data I can reverse engineer to the best capabilities of mine who should have access. Below is a list of all the elements that are effected:
Strategy Room Playbooks : All lost
Game Scouts < Season 23 : All lost
Player Stats < Season 23 : All lost
Virtual Rosters : All lost
Virtual Players : All lost
Fantasy Team Data : All lost
Member Information : All lost
WTF am I going to do about all of this?
Pick myself back up and keep going on.... Only thing I can do. But where my screw up comes from you will benefit from.
What is in it for you?
So here is what has to happen. You will need to register for GLB2Scout again. Please follow this very carefully!
1. Navigate to http://www.glb2scout.com
2. Click Pricing menu option
3. Select Subscribe under the Fantasy menu
4. Fill out the form with the fields it asks for
This will give you a FREE season with full scout access for Season 23. Yes... a FREE season!!!!! Everyone is eligible to join and see the tool and play with it.
For the guys who already have paid in the past and should have REAL memberships, it is on you to message me ASAP and let me know that you already had a membership. Go ahead and sign up again using the above method and then PM me, or email me >> scout@glb2scout.com and provide me your GLB2Scout username and the email address that paypal would have used to pay for the membership. At that point I will research it and upon verification, I will give your the access levels you had prior as well as a $10 credit on the account for future memberships. I am sorry I have to have you guys do the work, but frankly since I don't have the user info in the database, all I have is the paypal information.
