So, with the introduction of the Adept trait, you can now have a Gold SA on a S* skill player at the end of rookie year. My question would be is it better to go ahead and gold or to have two Silver SAs? Generally I try to have 75+ skill points in the driving attribute for a gold SA and I just can't get there after rookie due to how much needs to be sunk into Conditioning. Just curious to see if anyone else is making this decision this year and which way they are leaning...

Depends on the position. Having gold stiff arm on a rb after rookie would be awesome.

The way I see it there isn't a position I'd want to not gold an sa first.

Any other opinions on this?

It does really depend and sometimes I go silver and then do the free respect after the season and then get on track for gold.

This is really the first season where we've had this opportunity so there isn't any previous history to go off. The main question is does a gold level SA fire off consistently with 45 or 50 for the governing attribute?

I think it depends on the SA, some fire more than others. Also a big thing is, if it's already GOLD, you don't have to wait for the points to get it to gold later when the governing attribute does start to get to 70 and higher. Maybe it's just me, but I think GOLD First Step could be real good for a blitzing LB in Sophmore. While you could also SILVER BRB and SPIN for a DT. HB GOLD Stiff Arm for a Speed guy could be dangerous, Silver Brace 4 Impact and Power Through for a Power Back.

Find what you want to build, what you want that player to do, and adjust accordingly.

I've never considered Gold Stiff Arm for a Speedster. That always felt like a power running SA. What does it do for you on the faster skill players?

I tried Stiff Arm on an Elusive HB and didn't like the results. It's a Power HB Trait.

Try it on a S* HB with 100 cond/sprint/power running.

That's not an elusive runner. I'd fully expect it to work for a power runner.

I didn't do it myself. But I liked it on a speed back that was doing it, unfortunately that agent went inactive so didn't get to see end result. But through 3 seasons it was good.

But then again I could be wrong and just got frustrated when my player got stiff armed, and started assuming it was different than actually was

My complaint isnt that its ineffective on an elusive exactly, its that it doesnt fire enough even at gold with carry awr 71 to be worth the investment.

The issue ehre is stiff arm wont fire without decent carry awareness, which is gonna be low if you go down this route.. 100 awareness it fires regularly, 50 awareness or less, itll fire maybe once/twice effectively (by which I mean at the right time to break the tackle)
