I have no idea if this has ever been brought up before but there are many teams that don't care to give away game plans or give a team any thoughts on how we want to run our teams. My thought is why can't we have own team scrimmages? No different than a training camp or heavy training before any game really. Have the offense go vs the defense, that gives us opportunities to practice playbooks/tactics/new plays or any new setup scheme in privacy. And if there is an issue as in, well how do you do special teams then since many use both offense and defense on special teams for punt/kick and the return side? Well we should be able to have carbon copy players just for that. It's more about testing things in house with our own offense and own defense more so than special teams. I don't know......thoughts? Would like to have a discussion as to why it may be good or bad? I've personally always wished they had a training camp system implemented so we can do our own in house scrimmages. And as always to support the business it's not like they have to be free, say maybe a small handfull like 5 free scrimmages then after that 25 flex per scrimmage as an idea.
