Can you guys help me build a CB capable of INTs, deflecting, and man coverage? No Tampa 2 or Cover 2 style CBs. I want every pass to be not caught due to "nearby defense" or intercepted. I want a CB that can bump a #1 WR off his route and stay with him through his double move.

I don't mean to brag but I do make the best pass coverage DBs if I do say so myself

The interceptions by CBs are pretty random in most cases if I'm being completely honest, but deflecting is just as good.

Don't be like certain doofus's in this game that shun the importance of quickness and coverage technique. Most people go mainly sprinting, don't do that. Keep footwork and quickness about the same and 5 points (no more, maybe one less) between those two and quickness. The higher you make your man awareness, the higher your coverage tech should be. I don't really max, unless it's a superstar. 80-90 man awareness and at least 80 coverage tech is enough. Deflecting should be somewhere around 70-80.

The physicals are different based on who's scheme and build ideology you come across. I go withat least 40 vertical, 70 sprinting, and quickness and footwork somewhere between 75-85. Again, depends on S* or not. The vertical is so they can reach some of those higher up balls. With high enough man awareness and coverage tech, I have noticed that CBs will look like they're burnt early on a route, only to deflect (and sometimes even pick) the ball. Now i dont know if it's always guaranteed, but everytime I see my guys do it the pass is incomplete. It won't work with a QB with high enough pass power most likely due to their ability to throw it farther, faster. Therefore it could cause long pickups (but thankfully no one really invests into too much pass power)

Overall though you just want a build that'll work for you. There are many great CBs that have builds that vary largely. Finding the right combination of skills is the key.

Do CB's even bump in this game?! Yeah, my personal ideology is that you should leave the INTs to the Safeties. Manily focus on deflecting Cov Tech, quickness, sprint, condit, and Man aware to make sure the WR never gets the ball. Get some Int but remember that it is expensive! Build a physical freak and don't really spread way too thin man.

No CBs dont really bump in this game, but CBs do seem to get far more Ints than Safeties do. I like a CB with high Spr, Ftwk, and Man Awr, a decent chunk of defensive Consistency Quickness and Conditioning and a fair amount of Balance Tackling Tech and Heart then once those are established investments in Coverage Tech Deflecting and Intercepting can be made.

I think coverage tech is overrated personally. I also think you want 90+ awr and deflection to be a very good cov cb

Nope, but it would be awesome if they did.

The only problem with that would be it would either happen when passes were thrown or too far down field and people would be pissed because they would want interference
