Hi All,

I am a returning to the game after a long absence. I have a lot of experience building dots in the original GLB but have virtually none in GLB 2. I have a c ouple general questions and then some specific questions around HB's that I would love some help answering:

General -
1. It appears as though training is gone from the game. Can someone confirm?
2. It doesn't appear that there are any "general" stat gains aside from spending skill points. Are soft-capping attributes or strategizing over which attribute to cap first a thing of the past?

Speed HB Questions -
1. How much Speed is needed to break away from defenders? What is the min amount of sprinting you would build a HB with?
2. General relationship between Speed / Quickness / Footwork / Balance. Aside from SA triggers, what does each contribute to and how important are they?
3. Carrying grip - what is the min. amount needed?
4. Elusive Running vs. Carrying Awareness - Which is more valuable?
5. In GLB 1 you could avoid / fakeout defenders with a HB that made quick cuts around defenders and did not necessarily need an SA to fire in order to avoid a tackle. Is this still the case?
6. Conditioning / Heart / Toughness - baseline amounts needed?
7. Is Snap Reaction useless as an HB?

I have many more questions but will just start with these. I know it's a lot but appreciate any input you may have.

Thanks

Conditioning 100 is the best at this point with toughness at least 40 for a speed hb. No snap reaction.
Carrying grip is personal opinion on speed hb but I still say 70

Is something to start with maybe?

too slow imo, especially after the quickness buff, sprint nerf. Wasting time with that Power Running cap being that high and bringing it to 40. I would mess around trying to get your quickness cap higher so that your points are better spent towards being more speedy. More agility points will give you higher elusive running cap too.

Footwork can help you avoid some tackles but I generally don't look hard at that until the end of my build. You want to get enough points in your essentials before worrying about something as minimal as that. Granted Spin is always something nice to add to an elusive build fwiw and footwork is required there.

100 conditioning and high toughness are what keep these really good backs trucking throughout an entire game. Best to get as much out of toughness as you can.

Well he wouldnt be a solo back as he not a S*. So not sure toughness is as needed. But i agree could use more quickness, but not easy to keep grip up decent and have agility higher is where i have an issue. Or id use the power running points for more quickness. Awareness is huge for elusive as well i think. Hard to get it all on a normal

The power cap isnt on purpose at all.

When I get to a computer I'll figure out some better caps. I know Moose has a speed back similar right now.

A Speed HB can get away with 95+ Conditioning, you don't need the 100 if the caps don't work out exactly. Sprinting you want 100, but 99 or 98 is probably ok. My backup HB on LogZilla is at 99.

You do not need Balance nor do you want it IF you are going Elusive. If you're going Power Running you need some.
You do not need high Carry Grip as an Elusive HB, but you do if you're going Power.
You do not need 40 Toughness (at least up through Pro), but it may be an end build target, if you're going Elusive. You want a lot of Toughness if you're going Power.

Been waiting. Im still learning some things as well lol

The lower carry grip thing is what scares me. If it does work ok then i can up quick and elusiveness easy i think.

theres a quick thought. I could probably put a little more thought into it and get some better caps though.

Not sure if could drop awareness for more elusive or not. But think vision helps as well. So could be tested both ways i guess

Wow, Scout is extremely helpful. But my curiousity with those builds is: what abilities do you go with on those then?

I have been loving Juke on my early builds. I imagine that would need good FW to improve it's capabilities
Stiff Arm I think could be good, if save the points and jump straight to Gold

but for these builds, it seems like just mainly going for things like Mr. Reliable, First step, and Second Wind?

Mr reliable, brace 4 impact, juke are some good ones for a build like that.
