I just started playing GLB 2 today. Here are the questions I have, thank you for your time and answers.

I have 2 players, 1 a PU and 1 Normal.
1.) Should I play scrimmages and be part of a CPU to learn the game, or for how long?

2.) Would appreciate any basic knowledge or dips

Use the pickup player. Make a player and get them into a game. You can do about one game per hour and get SP after every game to build your player up.

Your free regular player can join a CPU team but there are plenty of Human controlled Rookie teams that need players. Try to find a match.

Don't be dismayed though if at the end of this season people say to retire and remake your free player. Its a normal learning curve. We've all gone through it.
