Would anyone over here be interested in having our two leagues combined? I really don't want to play in a cpu league, and as it stands now, there's 4 meaningful games my team would play in the regular season. Everything else is a waste of time. I'd encourage everyone to petition the devs, requesting them to combine leagues. Here's what I just sent them.

Hello! I sent in a ticket a day and a half ago concerning the journeyman tier and its two leagues. It was a bit preemptive, guessing how the two leagues would be structured, but it turns out I was pretty spot on with my guess. Now that things are a bit more official than in my last message, I'll make my appeal again.

In Labrador league, there are six human controlled teams to six cpu teams. All six human teams are full human rosters. In Dachshund, there are 9 human owned teams and 3 cpu teams. Out of the 9, one team (Alabama Steeldogs) seems it is about to fold, as the whole roster is set to expire, including the owner's own players. Two other teams (Shanghai Millionaires and New York Avengers) are roughly 1/3 human rosters, with expiring contracts taken into account, have made zero attempt to recruit on the forums, and have shown zero signs of activity since joining the league. That leaves six active, fully functional teams.

Some people enjoy running their teams for different reasons than others, and that's totally fine. I think the twelve teams that are active and make the effort to become competitive would all rather be in a league together than to be in half cpu leagues. This would come at the expense of throwing two teams (or three, if I've somehow miscalculated on Alabama) into a CPU league by themselves, whereas the other 12 teams now form a functional league.

I hope you consider this request. I can currently guarantee you 7 out of 8 playoff spots between the two leagues. It would be a lot more exciting, and enjoyable for us, to actually have to compete to win that trophy this year.

Thank you for the consideration!

I'd be ok with the leagues combining, more competition the better.

I wholeheartedly encourage you (or anyone else that agrees) to send a ticket into support and tell them how you feel.

If they see 10 or 11 requests, I feel a lot better about our chances than just me.

I sent in a request with your message slightly tweaked. I think combining the leagues is necessary for our sanity. I urge any of you who feel the same way to also send in a support ticket, we could use all the help we can get.

I agree that a merge seems logical. The issue with how the current game is laid out is that will result in a messy ladder matchup situation. Either a CPU opponent, a tier up or tier down since ladder comes from outside of the league... It definitely seems to be the direction which we are heading though either way.

That's fair to consider that it will have ladder repurcussions. LLUA played eight out of 16 ladder matchups vs. the same tier last season, two of which were repeat opponents. Given the current structure, we would, at most, have 6 unique opponents to play in the ladder, same tier, this season. We will have maybe 4 competitive league games this year. There's a small hit to the ladder matchups, but the benefit of one league is huuuuge.

I agree. I am excited about Arthur league that BSB is in (sophomore) this season. We have a fairly stacked league which will make the league and playing playoffs along with positioning a lot of fun. 7 pretty good squads there.

Yeah, you've got multiple 20 win teams in each division. That's exciting! I have no desire to pencil myself in for the playoffs before the season has even started. I want to have to work hard for it, I want a challenge. Every loss holds consequences. A big thing we're missing out on too, is with more teams more activity within the league can develop. I tried doing league write-ups on a few different occasions but there was really no response to it. Very few rivalries develop. With a full, 12 team league, we'd get both. We'd see more than the occasional "GG" every three days on the boards.

I'm going to push hard for this. I really hope you guys will take a couple minutes and send your thoughts into support as well.

Ladder is based off of matching up with someone +/- 20 your own ladder ranking. By those calculations, I couldn't play 11 teams in Labrador last season by the end of the year. If having to play a few extra inter-matchups is the difference between 4 and 14 meaningful games next season, I think it's worth the trade off.
