But thanks for limiting our rosters so we only waste flex on 1 kicker per team.

Maybe they need more toughness to handle the intimidation from "blitzers."

If it was possible for special teams to be even worse in the early levels, we've accomplished it.

State of Kicking.

In the beginning, teams had one kicker. That kicker sucked balls so teams went with two kickers.

One of the kickers was the kickoff specialist. Since it was easy to build a 100 Kickoff power kicker, this was done and teams enjoyed a 40-50% touchback rate. This was OP but virtually every team used two kickers so the net competitive balance effect was near zero.

One of the kickers was a FG specialist. This build required high Accuracy and Consistency and even with high levels of those skills, FG kickers were merely acceptable. No one thought they were OP. Even S* specialist FG kickers weren't OP. Again, since each team had one the competitive balance effect was near zero.

Now we're back to one kicker on each team. Each team gets to choose between shitty kickoffs or a shitty FG %. There is now a competitive balance issue as matching your team builds and strategy allows for the well run teams to gain an advantage over newbs.

This is the part Bort/Cdog didn't really think through.

It's an issue that can't be solved with builds. FG kicking was barely acceptable with specialists so I would recommend a global change to FG accuracy.

Yeah, I'd say that accuracy or consistency just needs to be made little cheaper.

Right. I'm very glad they got rid of the cheese of two kickers per team, including the KO specialist that was so easy to make it was boring and a waste of flex. And there was basically no tradeoff to having him, because even in salary he could have a much lower level than the league and still be OP.

FG accuracy was an issue with two kickers, and may be even a little more of one with one; but if they hadn't changed anything it still needed to be addressed. They could very easily make FG accuracy what it should be with one kicker per team, as easily as they could have with two per team. They just choose not to...and that part is too bad.

And at least now there's a point to having a S* kicker, because a S* kicker can handle both KO's and FG's (though the FG's will, as with everyone else, still be too likely to miss; but they could very easily fix that as I said.

Is it really that hard to make a 90+ accuracy and 90+ KO power Kicker?

Most teams didn't have the luxury of building a new player, they had to pick from what they already had. On top of that FG kicking has always been a bit too inaccurate, especially at lower levels. A boost to FG accuracy is needed.

That's a nice fable, but plenty of teams had one kicker before.

That build would be terrible. FGs need a lot of con.
