seriously, why the fuck do wide open WR always drop the ball? That should be a catch more than a drop. Why are uncontested catch rolls so bogus? Why build WRs that rely on getting separation if separation has no impact on the damn catch.

Its fucking annoying when this shit happens. Why are these type of plays more than likely to be drops and not catches...

All the damn time...sometimes I just hope for a defender to be closer to my receiver so he can actually catch it and then get tackled.

There was for sure a stealth buff to drops late last season

They should just add a new skill - "Helen Keller"

The higher the skill, the less your players act like Helen Keller.

They catch all the shit with 2 dudes draped all over them though, catch in traffic is hella good, but receiving hands sucks.

Maybe this was intended as a buff to zone defense.

I thought that, too.

recent changes to catches in general were counter productive, still way too many catches in tight cov and double coverage and seems to be no bonus at all for catching the ball when the receiver is uncovered or against a LB or safety. too lazy to go double check, but i remember an "increase to catching rolls when receiver is facing the QB" but i swear the cutbacks on plays like WR2 route on WR hook are worse than ever.

at least if this new change really did balance the counters a bit better, all facets of the game are kinda balanced currently aside from inside rushing. needs to be a rock/paper/scissors matchup of guessing whether a balanced team is going to run inside, outside, or go pass heavy (assuming every team is going to moderately mix in counters) because right now its either pass or outside and those are both relatively easy to stop with the same types of defenses

10000% agree. I think it was right before the playoffs started. We had 16 drops in our 1 playoff game which was triple what we had in any other game all season. Most of those were uncontested.

Almost makes you want to build a WR with 11 Sprint, no Route Technique, no Route Elusiveness, and just go all Grip and CIT.

Ridiculous...
