How does one actually make sure this works? Basically I have a few holes I need to fill on my team next season (Seasoned in S14) and I was going to try and burn through the first two tiers using that catch-up trick.

Be on a rookie team that plays early, and get xp from that game (any tier, just using rookie as an example).
Then find a rookie team that plays later in the day and join, getting exp from that game...so you get double xp for one day.
This will make him level up a tier one game early, so once he gets the second tier plus an extra game, use catch up to get to the third tier at the end of the season.
Then find a rookie team that plays later in the day and join, getting exp from that game...so you get double xp for one day.

You mean Sophomore? If you have a rookie player who plays his 30th game, he's no longer eligible to play in rookie.

He just can't sign a rookie contract if he's a sophomore.
And yeah, you can just sign him to a higher tiered team to make it easier.
I am not sure if that extra game worth of exp, that you got earlier that day, would cause a same tier contract to be unsignable though. Would be nice to know.

Right. Play game 30 early in the day (on a CPU team, if possible) to move up a tier. Then play the 31st game of the season in the next tier up.
Gotcha. I see the disconnect. I was giving advice based on day 48 games. You were giving advice based on non-day 48 games.
one of the annoying things about GLB2.
if this is OK in corndog's eyes --- then modify player creation so that you can build a rookie or soph or seasoned player.
or
if this is not ok --- just toss in a fix so no player can get two experience loads in one day.

Yep, s'all good. IMO they should really close that loop though
One easy way to throw a wrench in the plan may be to have higher tiered games sim first...
Vet games sim at 6AM
Pro games sim at 8AM
Jman games sim at 10PM
Seasoned games sim at 12PM
Soph games sim at 2PM
Rookie games sim at 4PM
(as an example anyways)
That way you can't sign with a higher tiered team later in the day. (unless they just don't care - which is possible I guess lol)

Agree. Or make it easier for all to attain.

Same with superstars. Just let an agent pay more for superstars instead of having to create tons of players, put them on a CPU team and then retire them after one season.

There are creative workarounds to get S*s. Much like this skip a tier trick, they just don't seem right.

I guess the same trick for getting a seasoned player here can get you two superstar points off of one player right?
