Is it worth it to boost a kicker? I mean the answer should be obvious, but they are so hit or miss (seems mostly miss) does boosting make sense?

I think so -- for sure at rookie...doesn't matter too much later on as it will just equal a point or two

If you're on a budget, I don't think I would. (I haven't boosted my Beers kicker yet)
If you've got flex to spare, and are trying to push ladder ranks, every little bit helps.

If you plan to keep your team all the way through Vet you'll need to boost to get the full complement of games.

Depends on Kickoff or FG kicker.
At Vet, you'll want a fully boosted FG kicker.
At Vet, you'll want to rotate Soph/Seasoned level Kickoff specialists. So boosting these are dumb.

btw... since we're on the subject...
has anyone brought up how dumb it is to require 2 Ks on the same team? especially when teams can't even keep a fully stocked secondary of 2 SS and 2 FS?

2 K's aren't required. It's just optimal for FG's and kickoffs, but obviously you give up depth elsewhere to do it.
It might be interesting to only allow one K per team, so one has to choose...but then, it would be nice if they made it so a well built FG kicker will be more accurate than they are now.

agree - a well built FG only kicker should naturally be an absolute beast - incredibly accurate with his range growing along the way.
as it is now there are really only two options in my mind:
- we just aren't building FG kickers the right way
or
- kickers are under powered
I don't really know what it is.

Now in the NFL this season - perception is that kickers have been horrendous. There have been something like 6 kicker changes already.
But still. We have 9 kickers (source: http://espn.go.com/nfl/statistics/player/_/stat/kicking/sort/fieldGoalPct ) who are perfect at 100% of their field goals made (yes we are only 5 games in).
#1-9: 100%
#10: 89%
#11: 89%
#12-19: 80%-88%
#20: 78.6%
#21-23: 75%
#24-29: 70-72.7%
So - the best kicker (by FG %) in our current GLB2 HOF is at 78% completion. That would rank him as the #21 kicker in the NFL.
Something is wrong.
I get that Kickers make ups are overly simple in GLB2...but SO WHAT. Simple make up / not enough different attributes should mean they are easier to build well -- it shouldn't mean that they are impossible to build well.

Yeah, that's my thinking.
While the kicks themselves can't be blocked, I do believe there is a heavy pressure aspect to each kick (hence consistency's description). Snap Reaction seems to reduce the chance that the kicker will be under as much pressure, by getting the ball out sooner.

The last 3 seasons he's had 81%, 78% and this season is 76%.
I'm planning to test out a S* kicker next rookie season that will have my final build. If that can't get the results we are looking for, I don't know what will.

I've built some of the best kickers since S4 in this game, I will say this -
Built a 100 Accuracy Kicker, 99 consistency, 72 Power, 21 Snap Reaction - and he sat at a lifetime percentage of 73.4%.
Had another Kicker at 100 Accuracy, 70 Consistency, 65 Power, 80 Snap Reaction - and he sat at a lifetime percentage of 79.2%
Random? Maybe. I also tinker with certain physical traits but who knows.

The problem may be that FGs are scripted, like handoffs, and as such Snap Reaction on a K is meaningless.
Does anyone know? Has anyone tested it at all to even think they know?
