Has anyone built a solid possession WR? As in high hands, CIT, Confidence, etc who can block somewhat? Just what is the minimum speed and quick would you use? or is there an example somewhere I can see of a guy's build to get an idea?

Dominator and early bloomer is a must. Quick > speed.

Yes - listen to the guy who has played 1 game with his rookie team doing this -___-.

Don't take early bloomer unless you have a S* guy - and even then it's debatable. Why not just build a normal receiver with some blocking? (Obviously you'll have to sacrifice a bit on the receiving skills - but not a ton - especially with the changes to the blocking costs that make it cheaper getting to 40 or 50 or whatever).

If he wants to get several skills high, he needs early bloomer.

Duro has built quite a bit of solid possession WR's. Might want to take a look at some of them. The 5 WR's near the top of his page all have ridiculous verticals in the 80's or something plus some good diving skill as well.

I wouldn't go with early bloomer unless you just want a really shitty player later in your career who is below average in everything. (unless like FF mentioned he is a superstar.)

I've been playing with the scout tool to get builds... seems like you have to really cut back on speed to get the points, like as in 50... taking block to 40 is still kinda expensive too... but you can get good hands, CIT, and Consist... but not more than 40 vert... I need to see someone else's ideas.

I'll hit up bhall, thanks.

If anyone else has any idea, I appreciate the help. Don't want to gimp my build and blow a S* on it doing so

Don't do vertical and dive...too expensive. You have to choose 2 or 3 things he is good at. Only so many SPs to spend. No way you can invest significantly in catching, blocking, speed/quick and jump/dive.

However, if you get EB, you can get those skills a little higher.

The vertical and dive were merely an experiment.

You likely aren't going to invest significantly in sprinting and quickness if you are actually building a possession WR. EB is just going to gimp your high end for catching.

This is what I've come up with so far, its comparable to my WR#2 star on KY currently:

and Early Bloomer version just to test GE's theory:

He said he wants blocking too, which is pretty dang expensive.

So do you want a better blocker/vert/dive/footwork(EB) or better catcher. The one with EB looks more well rounded. You can even take footwork down to 30 and put run block power at 30.

Would he be effective catching the ball with rounded stats like that, as that most stars ive seen have their main skills in the 80s or higher?

If I were doing a possession guy with lower speed/quickness I would take route tech and elusiveness to ridiculous levels. I am not a huge fan of route elusiveness at this stage but do believe that elusiveness is what can freeze a defender and it is probably going to be necessary to do more of that with a slower guy. Anyway, I looked off of where you had some of the initial stats and created the guy below. I would use something along those lines as a starting point.

Ah, excellent

Thanks for the help guys.

If anyone tests those other builds, let me know how they turn out. I'm interested in the research on what optimal.
