I'm just going to plug the senior league here: it's a lot of fun and is an interesting league. Here's a more in depth plug if you're not convinced: https://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/forum/thread/5242854 Sign your Legends up! It's more fun than you might expect!
That said, let's get into the ridiculously early Season Preview with this disclaimer: All of these teams will add players as the season progresses, and lose some too. The teams that are strong in the beginning may not be strong at the middle or end.
Alpha Division:
Phoenix Retirees: The returning champions, and the ultimate dynasty of the Senior League. TDiddy's favorite. This team has already recruited well, and seems to be the strongest team on defense in the league. Look certain to place highly in the league, and would be considered by many to be a lock for the playoffs. Many players on this team are new to the senior league, so it remains to be seen how they will perform.
Human players: 18/43 total
Key Players: QB Caesar Gonzalez, HB Sonic Boom, DT John Baranowski (S*)
Hartford Walkers: Dreadfully underperformed last season, being the last team to win a game in the Senior League. Despite this, finished off strong, which would be a relevant factoid in a league without 100% turnover. Has an advantage over Phoenix, their probable rival, by having only one QB. DE Chris Yates was one of the strongest players in Senior League last year. WR Davaris Robinson led the senior league in TDs as well.
Human players: 12/43 total
Key Players: QB Brady Golson, DE Chris Yates (S*), WR Davaris Robinson
Leeds Chartered Accountants: At this point, Leeds has a lot of ground to make up in recruiting as they lack human players. No human players at the major skill positions and few across the board mean that they will struggle early. Leeds performed well last year, but lost ground as their QB went MIA late in the season. Leeds could possibly be the last team to win a game in the Senior League this year
Human players: 7/42 total
Key Players: CB Leslie Shockley, WR Cheese Hands
Cincinnati Dinosaurs: The first Champions of the Senior League, this team has fallen on recent hard times. Their offense looks solid at this point, with two Human HBs being a significant factor in CPU leagues, but their defense is definitely lacking. In any other division might compete for a playoff spot, but this doesn't look like their year. EDIT: Stobie making me look like a fool, this team is now stacked
Human players: 16/41 total
Key Players: HB Yes Man, HB Mike Alstott, OT Joe Staley
Projected Finish
1. Hartford
2. Phoenix (w/ wild card)
3. Cincinnati
4. Leeds
Beta Division:
Houston Slugs: Not a lot of players so far, but an interesting team nonetheless. Two speed WRs and a decent QB means they could pull out enough big plays every game to win some and make this divisional fight more interesting. The lack of any human players on D is concerning though, and they may find themselves in frequent shootouts.
Human players: 10/39
Key Players: QB Jay Evans, WR Pietro Maximoff, WR Cheezed Lightning
Jacksonville Grandpas: A team with a potentially solid passing game, the Grandpas have a rare S* WR who could be a big factor. Along with Senior League legend Shoes Buttback, expect the Grandpas to put points on the board in bunches. Two solid human players help anchor the defense.
Human players: 6/41
Key Players: QB Frank Ryan, WR Kimber Smith, CB Jalen Ramsey
Saskatoon Sleepers: A traditionally strong team, with two straight championship games under their belt, Saskatoon has not been able to recruit well. It stands to hurt them in a very tough league. They have to put their hope in the defense to keep things together.
Human players: 6/40
Key Players: FS Rock Marcus, DT Billy Ball
Louisville Rollers: A strong team, but with 2 QBs which could either work out well or poorly for the Rollers. A FS S* could be a huge factor in a solid defense.
Human players: 10/41
Key Players: FS Hingle McCringleberry (S*), HB Robert Riddick
Projected Finish
1. Louisville
2. Jacksonville
3. Saskatoon
4. Houston
Gamma Division:
Eugene Elderly: A strong defense and a legendary HB gives Eugene solid footing in the Senior League. They should be a competitor for the division title and could be a powerhouse this season. I predict they will be the last team to lose a game.
Human players: 15/43
Key Players: HB Salamander Dreadnought, DE The Terminator
Washington Wrinkles: The Wrinkles are usually an offensive powerhouse, and with a QB I see no reason they couldn't be this year. They have yet to sign a QB, though, and may need to scramble to find one in order to reach their potential.
Human players: 10/43
Key Players: WR Felipe Sweet, DE Slow Your-Roll
New York Lindy Hoppers:The Lindy Hoppers were a poor team last season, and look set to struggle again. They are strong at HB and in the receiving corps, but are missing to many other areas.
Human players: 6/41
Key Players: HB Turbo Torres, DE Reggie White
Nashville Naps: Their recruiting has been a disaster. With only 3 human players at the time of posting, they look to be far behind the other teams in their division. I predict that the Naps will struggle to win games, and may compete to be the last team with a win on their schedule.
Human players: 3/41
Key Players: P Carl Givens
Projected Finish
1. Eugene
2. Washington
3. New York
4. Nashville
