So you've reached the end of the line. The games have come and gone, and your veteran player has reached the end of the line. Time to retire him, right?
WRONG!
Instead of retirement, there's a place he can go where the grass is green and the games are intense. Think of it as a little bit like GLB Valhalla; you never age, never get tired of playing, just play games over and over again until the end of time!
But why join the Senior league?:
That's an excellent question! The Senior league only offers 14 games and is CPU coached, so you may not get as much action as in a regular league, but there are still some perks.
A. In depth game previews and recaps, posted to the Game Recaps board
B. User voted MVPs
C. A running tally of plays of the week
D. A growing community of owners
E. Random results! You never know who is going to win, every team has a shot
If that's not enough to convince you, I don't know what is!
But which of these teams are any good?
That's a fair question, and in a CPU league it would seem like no team has any significant advantage over another. In practice, though, it's a little bit different. The Phoenix Retirees have been consistently dominant, winning 4 of the last 5 Senior League titles. Want to join the best? Go for it. Want to throw rocks at the throne? The Saskatoon Sleepers are the only other team to win a championship in the Senior League, and only barely lost to the Retirees last season. The rest are about interchangeable, but here are some things to look for:
QBs: Try to be the only QB, but look for teams with a more developed line and receiving corps. Better to split reps than spend the season running away from blitzers
HBs: Being the only HB is hard, but you will win more awards that way
Everyone else: Look for a good QB! That's the foundation of a solid GLB team. Also, try to join a team with superstars on it already. There are a few out there!
How do I get the team I want?
This is a little more tricky. You can get offers from up to 3 legend teams a day. If you don't get the one you want, turn the contracts down and wait until the next day and request offers again. If you have a lot of legends, putting them on the same team is a great way to be successful, as human players are much better than CPUs.
When can I start?
NOW! All the Senior league teams have been emptied and are ready to bring on players. Start signing now! A league preview will be written as soon as the teams have filled out their rosters.
