No more balance, and no more toughness.

Get Def. consistency to at least 40, 45-50 is good. Tackling tech to 50 ish, snap reaction to 30-35 or so, more points in pursuit always helps. You either need to start getting points into deflect, or into break run block. You can't have no points in either since the main way to contribute against the pass is deflecting and causing incompletes, while contributing against the run you'll need to be able to shake WR blocks quickly, so 35-40 end BRB is good for secondary players to be able to contribute against the run. It's alright to be taken out by a FB or TE who really should be meeting LB's instead of you. It's totally not okay to have a WR block your dot out of a run play.

Max Sprint, Quickness, Pursuit and Gold Closing Speed. Get Gold Third Down Stopper or First Step.

Appreciate the input! How useful are skills awareness, footwork, and intercepting as a FS? Where should those be?

on running plays, the free safety is always in pursuit
on passing plays, he's in a zone and covering deep

interceptions and force-fumbles are rare- but running and tackling occurs every play

FS is usually in a zone, so footwork isn't a big concern
Zone awareness, Coverage and Deflecting determine how good he is at defending passes

he is often the last man between a runner and the goal line - when he misses a tackle, it's usually a "c'mon man".

your OC calls a lot of 2 man under but also a lot of man base. That means you probably need to invest in both man and zone awr. After that though, literally just pump pursuit, sprinting and tackling tech
