It seems they are only lead blocking.

Logically, they should only use lead block awareness. But who fucking knows what the sim actually uses

I would assume 90%+ of the time the hb, and the fb for that matter, is lead blocking. I guess maybe there is a play where the guard pulls and leads and the fb fills his spot..but not sure GLB is that creative.

Actually I think runs up the middle are run block awareness for FBs, not lead.

But as you pointed out...nobody knows for sure anyway.
I am on the "FB only needs Lead Block" train, because on pretty much every play he is "lead blocking" for the HB/QB, also on inside runs. SI/WI formations where he blocks to the non-play side are the only ones the I (my opinion) think/guess need run awr.
On the pitch plays that doesnt even matter. Only if you wanna go high on Strong I HB Dive/ Weak I HB Dive Strong you might be in trouble with no run block awr. But then again...who actually knows
