Open to advice..

I built the player with a specific plan in mind.. Tall and Fast..

I chose abilities (First Step and Catch in Stride) that would compliment that type of player, then focused on buying the skills that activate those abilities..

Do I need to focus more on hands? Through 3 games he has 5 catches and 2 drops.. Biggest issue seems to be lack of targets, but it looks like he gets good separation.. Perhaps he is hurting from not having a QB that can go downfield when he beats his man..

Interested to hear peoples opinions..

WRs struggle to catch the ball in rookie. Not enough SPs to invest into catching at this early stage.

Just go all hands and catch-in-traffic from here. Cap them and work on awareness.

Rookie QBs don't want fast WRs. They want pure hands to catch the lol passes they throw and need them to stay within the reach of their noodle arms.

Firstly I would get rid of first step, that really doesn't help WR's

The important things are Rec Hands, Rec. Tech., Rec Aware, Rec Consist., CIT, Footwork, Quickness, Sprinting.

Yeah, probably not the best SA choices to start the build with. They're both useful on the right builds later on, but hard to build for either SA early with a WR.

Definitely need to spend a ton of skill points into Receiving Hands for awhile. Catch in Traffic would help too.

As for your SA's, keep in mind that they're Bronze level right now. Neither will trigger or "fire" all that often. Save some ability points and bring one of those up to Silver next time you can. You need 2 ability points to move a skill from Bronze to Silver, and then 3 ability points to move a skill from Silver to Gold.

First Step on a WR doesn't start getting good until you get Quickness to 60+ and the SA to Gold. That will take awhile, be patient with it as it's a useful SA later on.

Catch in Stride, is powered by Balance, so you need a pretty high level to make that work. But for the time being, I'd focus on 1st) catching the ball and 2nd) getting open. Then once you start doing those consistently, increase Balance to help out your Catch in Stride SA.

Not sure why I got a (-1), I have built several successful WR's and I use this build plan for rookies as asked by OP. I didn't mislead him at all.

I don't mind First Step as a choice right away. We didn't regret it with Ashland in rookie. Not really sure anything matters all that much till you get it to 2 star though so whatever.

IMO, you went too far into Quickness right away and ignored Hands too much.

Thanks for the advice.. All the points right now are going to hands skills..
