Rushing plays wear down the DLine more than passing plays!

In "real football", if the offense ran 60 rushing plays, the defense would be grasping for air and be worn down. This game seems to be the opposite. The more rushing plays, the more tired and worn down the OLine gets. Tackling big backs should take a toll on the defense. I realize that heart and stamina have a lot to do with it, but even if the OLine has high heart and stamina, it seems like the DLine always has more morale and energy at the end of the game.

I will scout a team and see they have 3 DT and 3 DE...and at least one of each of those is a pass rusher. I should be wearing them down by the 3rd quarter. But I look up and that one Nose Guard, who has played the entire game, still has a bunch of energy and morale. Are you kidding me???

Because Toughness. Increase your Intimidation yo

ps. It does, you just have no depth on offense so your team gets tired faster.

It's clearly a build issue here, most good running offense do wear down their opponent, ofc their OLine tires but less than the DLine they face, and you often see running team score more in the 4th quarter than in the first 3.

Teams like Wrath/Ground Assault usually wear down FSM at some point in the 3rd quarter. To where I'm running on fumes in the 4th and most of their offensive drives result in touchdowns.

Part of it deals with running outside or not. You want the d-line to cover more ground which tires them out. A defensive players energy drains mostly from distance covered but also bad plays or sometimes the opposing blockers intimidation. Pulling lineman immediately puts at least a DE or DT out in space where the energy drains start happening.

The energy/morale rework fucked up the last thing rushing teams had going for them, you won't be wearing anyone down that just gravitates back to 50 morale no matter what.

I have been pumping my stamina and toughness on all blockers. I'll probably start hitting up Intimidation now that run blocking tech is SOOOOOO ridiculously expensive.

And I just revamped my salary. I took high salary off Vader and Fett (S* LB and SS) and gave my entire OLine a high contract as well as my starting TE.

Wait, if you haven't put intimidation on them yet, how were you expecting them to wear down a d-line?

Just a general question as I remember on my last team, I tried to get intimidation high and it didn't seem to work. Maybe I need to go higher.

Intimidation is kinda go big or go home, Usually all lineman have at least a moderate toughness investment so doing intimidation half assedly doesn't work as well. Particularly with the gravitating morale system in place

This.

One good play (bad if your the offense) and they are right back in manageable morale territory again.

You can't wear people down if they don't expend much energy stopping you. You have no superstars and a pretty minimal offensive setup.
