A solid batch of games. Loving the ELO reset!
#1 Ground Assault vs #5 Djibouti Assassins
A marquee matchup. GA and DA are facing off for the first time ever. GA hasn't been tested much against the pass but did a solid job against DD. DA recently held Richmond to a low offensive output. I'm not entirely sure what to expect, but I would think both teams will hold each other down decently well.
#2 Madison Bulldogs vs #7 Doinitin Djibouti
Parab00n vs Titty. Tdiddy began the offseason thinking he had the #1 spot locked up, then shit hit the fan. No tears are sweeter than Tdiddy tears. Can Madison fight past the adversity and win the #1 spot anyway? They will need to win games like this. DD has a very strong run D, but I haven't heard much about their pass D. This one may come down to coaching, or it may come down to builds, or it may come down to turnovers, or it may come down to RNG. Best case scenario DD wins and Tdiddy starts a GE style "I should have won that game" post.
#2 Flying Spaghetti Monsters vs #9 Richmond Raiders
FSM is a rising star. A team that never dominated their own tier but seemed to get stronger and stronger as they progressed through the ranks. They really hit their stride last season and took another huge step forward this season. Richmond was a newcomer to vet last season and had a number of statement wins against top teams. Richmond's offense has been very inconsistent this season. They are facing the issues that many rushing teams are fighting lately. FSM's offense is good but can occasionally be shut down as well. Both teams have strong defensive coordinators, so I wouldn't be surprised to see a lower scoring grind it out game. This one should be a treat.
#4 Logzilla Boys vs #18 MMA Jesus Christ Superstars
The new kid on the block vs the veteran. Logzilla tells you exactly how they are going to kick your ass before the fight starts and then proceeds to kick your ass. MMA has been hanging around the top of the tier for a while now. Constant roster turnover has been an issue for them, but they have the potential to give any good team a run for their money. They haven't quite gotten it all together this season though so I would give the edge to Logzilla.
#6 Whoville Whos vs #14 Milwaukee Beers
The Beers are like the opposite of FSM. Early domination of their own tier and have fallen off a bit lately. Whoville has been a solid team for a while, but it seems they are starting to get over that hump this season. Due to Whoville's recent rise to success I will guess they put together a good defense that will limit the Beers and pull out a comfortable win.
#8 Default Name vs #22 Veteran #22
Default Name was a bit of an underachiever last season and missed the playoffs entirely. It appears that Stobie is trying a little harder this season. Bhall is still trying to get his offense on track. Unfortunately I think his inconsistent offense mixed with a run stopping defense is a bad combination for the current crop of vet teams. Default pulls this one out.
