Don't understand why Romo couldn't have taken the 2 seconds to reset his team to rookie. This is twice that he has screwed with the Vet ladder. If I knew he was going to take that Championship beatdown so badly I would have let his offense score at least once...

Just a brutal game for us, got down big early and made a big comeback only to turn the ball over twice in OT.

With a few surprising upsets in the ladder yesterday - it makes me wonder:

Is that team who was basically locked in the 10's-20's of their tier (or worse) suddenly interested in the ladder since they can actually have a chance at a fresh start?


Were there teams kind of locked up way down the ladder who said "screw it, what's the point?" and didn't really game plan / try anything to win -- who are now game planning / trying to win?

We've got a squad this season that definitely won't be a top 3 contender...but in no way are we screwing with the vet ladder. We'really just a low ranking vet team with a smorgasbord of different players.

Fer sure. The former not the latter.
There's also the difficulty for many, many of us of being stuck in a league where your team is simply outclassed by elite teams in the top 10 and season in, season out, their advantages remain their advantages because, for whatever reason, they are simply better.
It's such a PITA being on the cusp of greatness!

I know that my team will probably never win any hardware in my league. I get to the playoffs on a wild card - often - but then meet one of top 3 and, try as I might, cannot turn the upset (yet...).

How much better would it be if we had a more flexible league system that was allocated by ranking, or something like that? Just something that changed season to season to make the outcomes less known. And, as leagues can be re-organised, I don't know why they have it as a matter of policy not to. In both games.

Anyway, it's a waste of brain space to gringe about that, it is what it is, and of course there's also fun in trying or I'd pack it up, but for a player like me, it was all starting to feel like treading water which is as exhausting as swimming after a while, but pointless. You know you're going to drown out here.

So let's see what this season brings...

I'd say it's not necessarily "screw it" but rather a ladder game becomes more of a scrimmage wherein there is reasonable belief the opposing team is going to try. By turning focus to league play - the ladder game gives the ability to test/validate defenses or offenses prior to a league game. Of course, if one has given up on ladder games - its also a great time to call unorthodox plays to hopefully mess with those scouting you.

You've yet to score, over half your team is Sophomore players you created, and you will single handily alter the HOF and Ladder race this season.
