5pm kick off time -- which sucks donkey balls imo. Wish we were playing in the morning sometime. But away we go...I hope to see this league represented well in the ladder. Don't let me down!

Corning Cows vs Cool Runnings - Corning is still rolling with 20 CPU players and with 2 QB's / 2 FB's - this could be an auto filled roster (comment corning?). Cool Runnings though looks to have a full roster - complete with 6 superstars and at least 3 multi's represented. I'd have thought they'd be a run team (cool RUNnings) but maybe they will surprise us.

Based purely on human rosters: Cool Runnings by 17 http://giphy.com/gifs/dance-tom-cruise-tropic-thunder-zFp2UIsIW1tqE

York Revolution vs Jebediah - York with a bunch of names on the roster I am unfamiliar with (other than Mutley's superstar DC) -- but has Detroit Leos with a GM role. Leo doesn't have a player on the team though...strange. Please don't tell me I have to start calling you multi-leo. Jebs is mostly CPU.

Multi-leo leads York to a 1-0 record - winning by 21 http://giphy.com/gifs/dance-tom-cruise-tropic-thunder-u5ZDgCXHJw2fC

Vancouver Riot vs Tropic Thunder - Riot has a brand new owner I'm not familiar with and a full roster of all of his own players. Tropic Thunder is full of a number of agents -- think we only have 2 or 3 multi's represented (none mine). What will the ROIT do? I really don't know which makes this game quite a mystery. I was hoping to pull a CPU team 1st!

Since I have to choose - I'll choose Tropic Thunder by 6 http://giphy.com/gifs/robert-downey-jr-tropic-thunder-6PfMYkTXxpG2Q

Dessert Lighting vs Miami Beach Burns - Dessert Lighting is run by my old friend, compadre and rival: vipermaw. They will certainly be a good team this season with well built players and a solid game plan every week. Beach burns are all CPU except for 3 of the owners players. Really Keith M? Really? You're going to be competitive with 1 LB, 1 OT and 1 HB?

Dessert wins by 24 - http://giphy.com/gifs/excited-scream-tropic-thunder-HW05UrUSfAzZu

Tallahassee Camel Toes vs Trison Sulpher Sharks - 2 human players on Camo. 18 on sharks. That means Sharks should score 9 times as many points as camo.

Sharks win: 10-0 http://giphy.com/gifs/robert-downey-jr-tropic-thunder-11JA0Q61MSf3wc

Philadelphia Wolves vs Phoenix Fire
- Wolves are a single agent team with a reasonably standard roster build. Fire are inactive with a CPU roster. How does that even happen?

Wolves win by 13 - http://giphy.com/gifs/ben-stiller-tropic-thunder-9HLRWEJ24cpnG

If you have a CPU roster still --- it isn't too late to be competitive....start recruiting. Sign players. Watch some film. Come on -- let's not be half garbage here...

Pick your division winners:

I'll say:

York wins Alpha
Tropic Thunder wins Beta
Wolves win Gamma
Dessert Lighting wins wild card

Really there is not enough players to select from to "recruit". Most are garbage players. To win in this game anymore you have to build your own team around your own players. Or if you have a buddy or two to create some players around the scheme you want.

CPU players are not powerful enough to even make a difference. You can't select what you want from CPU players. I wish they were more powerful. I wish you could win it all if you only had CPU players. Haha but not with this game.

I can do all the game planning I want with CPU players and some shit players but there is only so much you can do.

Take a look at your teams you pick to win this league and how many different agents are on their rosters, not many.

Sorry for fielding a CPU team to start the season. I was in Argentina when I got assigned the team. Expect to see some things change.

At least we won the first game somehow.

Dunno where you are going with this, but I agree there is only so much you can do with CPU players (outside sending them contracts during offseason to get them to 50%) but that only helps so much. Heck, I scrimmed you a few times in my first couple of seasons and I was something like 0-10 so I get your point there...But, having only minimal player/owners is easier to manage. Only my third season but (referring to the s*** players) why I decided to load up on my own players is to avoid the owners who go inactive or worse - spend the season whining and complaining. Finding a good group of owners who play to play is a pain (for a newbie like myself as the vets are not jumping over themselves to sign up with a rook).

How to fix - give the team owners at least minimal control of CPU players? No boost but direct development?

There is also not enough Human players, you go to create a player and everything is in High Demand except for QB and HB. You would think GLB2 would throw some more free players out there for us. {I remember when they did this in the beginning of GLB1. Even throwing some free "bonus" flex points.} They sure have become more stiff.

I am sorry but I can't spend to much on this game but the way it is working you have to to spend a boatload on players for your own team to be competitive or know some buddies. I am sure people are thankful for the GLB scouting tool stobie created but I cannot spend 10 bucks a season. I don't pay for help. I scout using my own tool. Priorities.

Maybe your fix gives to much power to the owners... I would stay make CPUs more powerful vs human players. Have the owner be able to select different styles of players. For example, let the owner pick a pass blocker instead of a run blocker. Have a market like the human marketplace where there is choice and you can see what you are getting.

It sure makes it worthless for owners like me at times like this when there is no one to select from. Makes me feel like I am wasting my effort/ time and money to only get shit players. "waste" a season. Oh but next season won't be any better if there was not many players created now.

Maybe I am overreacting but I do have a point.

You do have a point.

However, the fact that you are on here talking about it gets you known straight away. I've seen Chris 51 poking around in the forums too. He becomes a familiar face and someone asking questions. I think we're hungry for new users to stick around. For those of us who are and can afford to pay to play, I want to sign my drones with a team I know are going to stick around.

This is something for everyone new to have to overcome.

Treat this as a learning season. You clearly want to get into the game but are frustrated by it's massive shortcomings in your situation. It is possible for you to spend a little and own a team. If you are respected as a good owner, people will fill your team with drones for you. People will come and help you out if you let it be known you're serious about being an owner. See if you can find some Vets to help out with co-ordinating, but not to do it. Get a couple of other newbies, including yourself to learn how to do it, "Give a man a fish..", etc.

For now, just recruit a mish-mash of drones and then be pro-active about telling them what to do. And it's never too late to create an experienced Rookie dot.

You have to be personal, and PM people and communicate and go in the live game chat room (http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/forum/thread/5233938 - That's the old one, but keep an eye out for the next one.) and ask questions. And trawl the forums, there are some gems out there amongst the swill, and you'll get a sense of which users in the community are open and willing to help. We're lucky to have TXSteve in this league, for example. IMO, there are few in the community who work as hard to keep the community active. Use this forum. Keep it alive and ask questions. There are some fine agents associated with the few teams in this league that are active.

It's a lot of work and there's a lot to get your head round. But don't think of the season as a waste so early. I picked up my team in the middle of S2. There were a handful of agents bumming around who had auto-signed, so I talked to them and very quickly networked my way into a supportive group which meant I could reset in S3 with an (almost) full roster.

The rest as they say is...mediocrity

Get a team of people around you with a plan and a sense of direction. If people know you'll put the work in, they'll do a lot of it for you.
