Why can I recruit players. In the select team drop down I cant find my team (or any team)

Your HB is a level 4 rookie, you can't sign players to a rookie team right now unless they are level 0. You should have used the catch up feature in the offseason and tried a sophomore team. Or wait until your team matches your HB's level and sign him.
