Now that we're into Season 10, we've officially seen the retirement/legendization of all Season 1 players.

There were no superstars built in Season 1 for obvious reasons. Who were some of the most memorable Season 1 players? You can take their entire career into account. How terrible they were for whatever reason. Or just stuff from the first season and then the dude was retired so you could build a S*. Or maybe they were a big thorn in your side.

Share one player and write up something about them explaining why you remember them.

My vote:

http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/player/28038 - White Lightning WR

Longhornfan's WR probably generated more forum discussion than any player in GLB2 the first couple seasons. He was an experiment in pumping sprinting, and if I recall correctly, he was already at 100 sprinting by the end of season 2? Caught some hilarious bomb touchdowns in earlier seasons, and was always a deep threat, though never particularly efficient. Still, at 100 sprinting/95 conditioning, White Lightning was the pioneer of speed builds. What a miserable selection of SAs though

Hahahaha...besides Cyberninja I remember DD instantly cutting his own TE to get the first superstar and then ninja was suspended

That was followed by some funny busdriver discussions in the forums^^

I would vote this guy...First ever pure Power HB who had amazing runs and due to scrimmage spams, sometimes held all 5 plays of the week

Pretty sure the HTH and RW were picked because of confusion over Conditioning bonus's at the time. Otherwise we would have probably went with a double dose of Second Wind.

it's going to be insane how many great players retire after this season especially Air Raids' Cleveland Brown and HBurgs' Akeem Jordan, who combine for I think six or seven #1 overall HoF offensive/defensive finishes

I'm a little shocked Hawaii didn't keep their guys in vet as long as possible... I would have ridden Storm Taurus the 120 max vet games, even if the team reset

Yeah it would've been great if Boss/Merik/jamz kept Hawaii together to see what Storm could do.

Though while it's probably of no interest to anyone else, I'm tracking Belgarion vs. Cobb vs. other WRs to see who has the all-time best numbers.

So far through Journeyman (career) it's:

Belgarion 22,103.5 yards
R Cobb 19,871 yards (one less game)

Cobb's numbers would be better if Atlantic city stayed. It took Tdiddy like 3 seasons to figure out how to use him

Enough about season 2 players though. We'll talk about them next season.

Could make a ton of arguments both ways really.

Cobb had the bonus of artificial space through broken plays.
Belgarion has the bonus of knowing the exact specs of players and how each play works against most defenses via the numbers. Also how most of the skills work into WR3 at this point.

http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/player/24159 was one of the best season 1 cbs, played the majority of his career on Maine snails (yes even the xav mid overload seasons) and finished his career with erkner but just couldnt keep up with the S* and better builds being fielded.

Through Journeyman Cobb was on AC Hookers. It's the next (Pro S6) season that his #s dropped off on Harrisonburg.

That's a avg/good Cover CB build even today and would be great if the Intercepting SP was swapped into Def Consistency / other stuff.
