This is freaking ridiculous:

1st guy he shrugs off has 49 tackle tech, 50 power tackle and 65 grip
2nd guy he shrugs off has 52 tackle tech, 35 power tackle and 42 grip
3rd guy has 40 power tackle

Winnipeg's HBs are freaking beasts!

I think intimidation and heart play a big role in tackling powerbacks.

You are trying to tackling a guy with 90 power rushing, you need to be in the 70s in tackling power and tackling tech, plus other things..

Power Running seems like it would be a direct counter to Power Tackling.

Tackling Tech in the 70s and high grip seems like it would be a good way to stop power runners.

That alone generally gets me smashed by power backs.

Generally speaking my guys haven't had a ton of issues taking down superstar power backs...

Most of my run stoppers have pretty high numbers on the above mentioned plus things like Intim and diving. I can't say which one for sure is the most helpful but they all factor into the equation.

Generally you are better off using two tacklers. One to slow them down and the 2nd to finish them off. This is achieved with proper playcalling, but sometimes you are just fucked.

strip technique helps. it causes fumbles while people are hanging onto the defender, such as trying to bring down a power back. its how i can have alot of fumbles vs run heavy teams later game

It's a group effort, you may occasionally have someone who will get the tackle solo but your best option is normally to swarm him with as man bodies as possible. You also have to keep him off the field, so that means safe offensive plays that eat up the clock. The longer your defense is out there getting drug around the field the worse it's going to get.

Few things (other than the raw tackling ability mentioned above, your builds suck there):

1. Make them lose momentum. Trying to tackle a power RB who is moving at good pace is going to be hard, regardless of tackling ability.
2. Get more bodies going their direction. If someone gets them caught in grip, the second person will usually take them down.
3. Don't have defenders get pancaked. Losing the #'s game creates more 1 on 1 matchups as opposed to those valuable 1 on 2 (or 3)'s.

Beating superstar RBs requires good builds and the right tactics. There's a level of reality where if you've got a Marshawn Lynch barreling at you full pace and you're alone, you're probably screwed. If he's slowed down, you're likely ok. If you've got a friend with you, you're likely ok.
