I get league games but I dont get what winning ladder games do for your team. Still new and dont find this info anywhere. What if you win all your ladder games, do you get to a higher tier??

Ladder games allow you to see how you stack up against other teams outside your league based on ELO ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Elo_rating_system ).
As a rookie team you'll play against other rookie teams (not in your league). Both league and ladder games affect your rank so, in general, if you win you'll move up the ladder. If you lose you'll move down. If you beat a team that's much better than you, you'll gain more. If you lose to a team that's much worse you'll lose more.
Others can provide a better explanation, but that's it at a high level.

Pick the tier your team is in from the drop down menu
As for ELO, no but Stobie's ranking has a variation of it.

Hey guys. So league games are league games, & ladder games are unorthodox games & for ranking. So then what's a scrimmage game do/for?

I use them to catch teams off guard and talk trash about how bad I beat them. I ensure that scrims are turned off on my team so they can't get revenge on me.

I shouldn't have +1'd this but I couldn't resist.
