Hello everyone! I am Jack Riley, Owner of the Williamsport Soul Reavers, currently stationed in Pac-Pro. It has been part of my routine for a very long time to do weekly write-ups for the league that I am in. This season it’s been a little less frequent due to a new addition to the family, but this week I decided to go outside of my own league and share my write-ups with other leagues. With that said, I chose a few games that I thought looked good and wrote some stuff down about them. Hope you enjoy them!
I try to make the assessment’s accurate based on previous games and tendencies, not having watched any of these teams this season, hopefully I was able to do that.
USA Conference
San Diego Supa Chargers @ LjubLjana SuperStar AlpDevils
Sitting at 10-3 and coming off of a shootout loss against All the King’s Men, I’m not sure if there’s anything that SDSC could’ve done better against AKM, perhaps doing a better job of slowing down the ridiculous running game AKM had or compiling less missed tackles. LSA played AKM a couple weeks ago and let’s just say, it wasn’t close..at all. LSA turned the ball over twice in that game and allowed AKM’s offense to go absolutely nuts. So, in this game, SDSC needs to do a bit better job of controlling the running game and beyond that, just play their game. LSA needs to do a better job overall defensively and protect the football offensively while establishing an offense. This game carries with it important playoff seeding implications.
Prediction: SDSC 31-14
Canada Conference
Norfolk Nighthawks @ Rock n’ Roll Damnation
First of all, I’d be lying if I told you I was giving Norfolk much of a chance in this game, that doesn’t mean it can’t happen. Here’s the issue, Norfolk hasn’t had a single close game this season outside of their loss to Austin Dawgz. In that game they threw 2 interceptions and did a poor job running the football, while letting Austin get enough yardage to kick two successful FG’s and score 3 touchdowns. In RRD’s solo loss Cryptic played a very clean game and did just enough offensively to get put points on the board. The difference in the game was 3 points, literally however the result of a game winning Touchdown with 4 minutes left in the game. So in this game, Norfolk is going to have to be very uncharacteristic to themselves and play a very good, clean game. They don’t have to explode, they have to be efficient and they’ve got a force a turnover or two by RRD to sway the momentum.
Prediction: RRD 45-10
Black Knights @ Paris Smexies
Barring an upset in the playoffs, Paris looks to make a return to WL; last week in a close win over Krakow, Paris was able to force turnovers and their rushing attack went crazy. The chances of BK beating Paris are slim to astronomically impossible. They haven’t beaten a good team yet this season, in fact, they haven’t even get a game within 40 points where they have faced a quality opponent. Here’s the bottom line.. BK needs to get rid of every plan they’ve had up to this point, focus on wrapping up tackles, stopping the running game, and scoring touchdowns. They could make a wave in the playoff seeding with a win here…good luck with that.
Prediction: Paris Smexies 77-13
