How much is enough? Think im putting too much into it. I mean how aware does a blocker need to be? Just enough to find the guy in front of him. Im not talking about pulling linemen, just power, straight ahead blockers.

keep in mind its also affects the players ability to react to a defender so the answer is that its valuable

How much is needed to react to a defender? He just needs to get his hands on him. I figure snap reaction would be more important for OLine.

I have some lineman at 75+ and also in the 50-55 range and I honestly see no different in terms of how it effects his engagement with defenders.

Nice answer.

Would this be a correct assumption?

Run Block Awareness is to Lead Block Awareness as Carry Awareness is to Return Awareness.

I mean, for a KR it is probably safe to assume 50-60 in both is okay. Same goes for an FB, OT and TE run blockers. I would even venture to say that Lead Block awareness should be higher than Run Block awareness.

I believe it increases the range of their awareness. So for straight ahead blocking, you don't need much.

Lead Blocking needs a bunch and picking up Blitzes needs a decent amount too.

Ok but picking up blitzes is pass blocking. So for power OLine, sounds
like they dont need much awareness.

Time to start making pancakes.

I have not spent a single point in awareness in any of my run blockers

This is what tech based Oline and WRs will get you...

And confidence plays a huge role also...fools are getting beat down!!

It depends if you care about special teams, and if you like to have big gains. The larger the awareness, I think the easier they suck defenders into a block (vs a pursuit check?). Pretty huge for centers or guards (depending on your opponents defensive formations) who push through to pick up linebackers or safeties. So you could be engaging at more of a north-south block, which will allow for less of a chance an LB is gonna break run block, rather than make some gimpy engagements, and try to hang on as the defenders try to roll off you. Hope that all made sense.

It's good for sealing edges and other tiny moments that can add up. But 40 is enough in my opinion.

Your asuming he needs to just see and react to the lineman right in front of him but keep in mind people blitz in this game and if your awareness isn't high enough your guy won't see or be able to react fast enough or even both.

You're also assuming that this game works and that players can see other players more than 2 inches away from them with max awareness
