With reading tru the foums I have seen lots of different opinions on slow build. While I realize there are no right or wrong answers I am curious what people's thoughts are?

Is it worth the 5% increase in skill points? And does it really make the player that much better in the end?

It just depends on the position and build type.

It's absolutely not worthwhile. You'll never actually reach most of your caps even WITHOUT Slow Built, it's overkill and makes your player worse overall by making everything cost more.

My rule of thumb is that if you're only looking to get 3-4 skills to cap/high, then you can go Slow Built.

Any other build that takes multiple high level skills isn't a candidate.

How do you define slow build? Because I have not gotten an answer that works and well most of the stuff I have gather from you has been really go info..

Kickers and punters for example, since you're just trying to raise a few key skills. A pure running QB would consider it because it raises some skill caps otherwise difficult to raise. I could see it on a dedicated PR/KR if you didn't want to go the speed route and just wanted to prevent fumbles.

Parab00n likes it on specialist D Lineman. I could see it on a Power HB potentially on an all-run team. WR Sedita on Rob's Alaskan Assassins has it. Typically I wouldnt, but he had a 600+ yard game so I wouldn't just write it off.

Though it's not just about the trait, or even the full build, it's about the role the player has. It doesn't cost any salary so if you're lacking Superstars it's an option for a few specialists, in my view.
