Hilarious example of CB over-running downfield receiver from Today's Salty vs Air Raid league game.

Pretty exciting sim from start to finish with lots of big plays offense and defense.

You know what is funny, I see this in college and even the NFL sometimes when the CB never looks back. Usually he just does pass interference though.

Yup. The GLB2 phenomenon of the CB continuing downfield and not staying with his WR is odd from both a "he must not be watching his WR" and a "he must not be watching the ball" perspective. It's a "what the hell is he watching" scenario. It's clearly not the WR breaking off the route or the ball in the air that's guiding his pathing.

I mean, it could be that it's just a failure of awareness checks compounded by lacking the physical skills to make the adjustment in time. He ultimately does get a hand up in the air on this play to attempt a defensed pass. I assume there was a CiT roll. There's definitely been worse examples before. I just like this one because it was in a silly situation in a big game between two top 5 teams.

Ultimately, Salty got excellent blocking for a play when they really, really had to have excellent blocking. 99% of the time I go into a 4th and 23 expecting to watch our 6 man rush snag an easy "third sack in a row".

Fwiw, Kolby Saenz isn't a CB you'd expect to see something like that against. I'd consider him to be an excellent coverage build.

Especially starting the play at full Energy and Morale.

Not sure where the "exciting sim" comment came from, this game was already over in the second quarter (when you scored your second TD to pull within 7), the second half didn't matter at all and I'm surprised the score was as close as it was in the end. I don't consider all the weird drops and turnovers on both side to be exciting either, just frustrating. GG though, you kicked our ass and deserved the win.

Back when I first got a team in this game I struggled passing the ball because everything was either a sack or a drop. The only passes that worked were these makeshift curls/comebacks. Eventually we went with the falling down and lose 3 or falling down and gaining 32 screen plays but thats another story.

the drops were nutty. We had a whole bunch of them, but I felt like the 4 you had were far more painful to watch.
