I see a lot of discussion about these skills being underrated or how important they are to strong finishes (or at least the first two skills.) I understand their purpose and benefits but not how to scale them in normal player growth. What do you guys expect of rookies, sophomores or veteran players? Is this the type of skill you expect different amounts of in different positions or are these boons so universal?

I see so many builds go so many different directions that I don't expect one prevailing idea but would like to hear more.

Depends on position. General rule of thumb is to watch games and if you're finishing below what you want, then add some conditioning/heart/toughness. Some positions need more of one and less of another. Such as o-lineman needing more toughness.

I'm not sold on Snap Reaction for some positions (like ILB and Safety), but it's pretty damn good on others.

40 con, 50 toughness, 30-40 heart for maxes. add them as you need them. Con is good to crank in rookie ball, up to like 30 or so right away in my opinion.

Snap Reaction is good on some positions, just average (but needed) on others like cornerback. The first time your CB gets toasted by a burner with 1st step you'll add some snap reaction, just to give you an idea. Do coverage LB's or safeties need it? I dunno, I'd say not really. People say you don't need it on running backs because the transfer is scripted, but I'm not sure I would go without a little.

Snap Reaction is mainly for players that line up along the LOS(D-line, O-line, WR's, CB's, TE's).

HB's not really, the transfer is scripted and can only go so fast, and anyone covering you on routes is far enough away that it doesn't matter. Same for LB's that don't blitz and Safeties. 25-30 is perfectly adequate for players not on the LOS. Those that are can justify more... how much more? I still don't know.

For conditioning don't just watch end game, watch individual plays and see how long it takes for your player to become winded when running. Same for heart an toughness, watch your dot get caked or drop a fumble/pass and see how morale is affected, if it's too much then add more points unless it's cost prohibitive.
