I know that if I sign a player to my roster in the offseason his chemistry will be at 50 to begin with.

What happens if I sign a player right now? Will his chemistry be 0 then automatically get up to 50 in the offseason? Or will he still be at 0

well I just resigned some guys to low after having them at med this season. They went to 50.. But these were guys already on my team. If he is new it starts at 0 I do believe

I don't think they did last season. However once the off season starts you can cut and resign to the 50 chem. I'll be doing that with a few of my players.

If you sign a player outside of the offseason, they start at 0 chemistry and will have to gain normally. Just wait for the offseason, and they'll start at 50.

FYI - You can't resign a player to the same team they were cut from for 20 days after being cut.

This was brought up last season. I believe it was mentioned off season by passes that restriction.

Time to look it up...

could it be simpler to instead do a thing so:

- last day of off season, anyone on a team with less than 50 chem gets bumped to 50

- 6th day of season, anyone on a team with less than 50 chem gets bumped to 50

Or you can just send the player a new contract during the offseason, and that'll bump him up to 50 as well. Why take the chance.

False.

Contracts start at 50 chem, always now. Every contract sets someone to 50 chem if below (if already above, no effect).

No only off season and up to day 6 start at 50. All other contracts start at 0.

You'll start at zero, but renegotiations in the offseason will bump you to 50.

So you can sign now, and just have them renegotiate again in the offseason for the bump.
