I've tried making a few and asked around, but is it the consensus that possession WR just aren't good in this game? If not, does anyone have a template on how to make one that works, because I'm stumped.

Possession WRs are very useful. Quickness + Footwork + CIT + Rec Hands + Rec Aware + Rec Con + Rte Elu + Rte Tech + Gold Head Fake

hight route tech, route elusiveness, and gold head fake wouldn't be very indicative of a possession WR build. That's a "get open" WR build.

You don't think possession WRs need to run crisp routes? Its not like they are running fly patterns.

My possession wr has been among the top wr's since day 1. Not a superstar either.

No matter how much Catching abilities a WR has he won't get targets often with less than 50 speed.

So this is what I've come up with so far... any critique and help is appreciated... what do I need to take... Head Fake? Slot Machine? Prime Time? Catch In Stride?

Well, Slot Receiver and Workhorse are kinda counter intuitive. If you are a wr3 guy, you won't be getting as many snaps. also, 71 hands is low for me. 76 would be okay, 81 would be great.

I could drop Speed to a 5 and put that into Confidence to try and up his Hands... If so gives me 73 Hands and 58 speed. Made this guy to test difference:

It depends on what you consider a Possession WR. A lumbering oaf? Or a someone who gets lots of targets and first downs?

Belgarion http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/player_stats/97220

Cobb http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/player_stats/44011

I'd argue these are the best "possession" builds. Bombs are great, but football is all about getting First Downs.

Belgarion has the highest catch rate of a top Soph WR so far - 66.83% and averages 10.88 catches per game on 16.28 targets.

Only Cobb was higher at Soph with 11.97 catches per game on 18.57 targets with a slightly lower catch % of 64.45%.

Also, if anyone asks if Power Running works for a WR, unfortunately I have to say no
