Spoiler Alert: Brag Thread (Sort of)

Here is my list, and I am curious if there are others that can top these 3 or belong in the discussion?

1.Extra Returner

He has an insane FOUR ST MVPs, and various finishes on the top of the HOF rankings. He also sports one 2nd Place finish and many other trophies. He is down to 11 this season in the HOF ranks, but still tops in his League.

2. Mercury Poison

Perennially in the top 3 HOF finishes. Has two 1st Place STs MVP wins, one 2nd Place, and one 3rd Place finish and numerous other trophies. He is currently 1 in his league and 3 in HOF.

3. Micah Hyde

He will probably overtake these two in a season or two as the top Returner. Currently he has one 1st Place MVP Trophy, one 2nd Place, and one 3rd Place. He is the top dog in both his League and the HOF this season.

Is there anyone else out there I am missing that belongs in the conversation?

I hope they make a All Time HOF, so the classic greats don't get lost in the shuffle when these new studs take over.

None of these mean anything because you could have a lineman return kicks with the same results. It's all about the blockers since the logic fuckin sucks on KR/PR.

In some ways maybe, but when you see the same 4-5 Returners on the top of the list, it shows consistency which I believe equates to the returner's build. Although Blocking has a lot to do with it, the skill of the returner is also a part of the factor.


But the logic does suck in ways.

The only thing in common with special teams is run blocking players

Not true (on the linemen part, obviously the return mechanics suck). While the run blockers are a large component, you won't have a top 5 returner with a linemen. We're talking good vs great here. The returner build is still important.

Two ST MVPs along with a 2nd and 3rd place finish in the ST MVP race. Obviously not on par with those on the top of the list but currently in the top 10 (and on pace for a 3rd ST MVP award).

Darius Mariani isn't off to a bad start either.

Agreed and that's the key here. I think there is a difference when comparing the elite returners.
