I hate being stuck on a team that has an inactive owner and not listed as a free agent because I'm stuck on a team for some reason.

I believe that you can sign with any team once your team owner goes inactive. I've had a few teams break apart during the season because of an inactive owner.

Yes but some recruiters don't look that far. I've had players on expiring contracts and cpu team still had to explain they were available.

If contract ends on day 48. I could see maybe day 49 still being there to give that one off season day to stay with the team but day 50 should be auto cut.

Some of mine are auto released when the offseason starts, some aren't. I think you should be able to get an auto release button on the first day of the offseason, and when an owner goes inactive.

You can sign elsewhere when they go inactive. Pretty sure the same applies during the offseason so long as you're expiring.

Yes inactive and expiring contracts work like a CPU team for signing. It's just a matter of ease of viewing.

Trying to get my s* players for this season I had a lot of players on cpu squads but some recruiters ignored those players seeing them still on a team in the off season even though the red sign of expiring contract.

Last day of offseason and still 3 of my players stuck on expiring. What's the problem with everyone being put as a free agent the fist day of offseason?

They do it this way to allow re-signs. As people have said, you can list them as free agents right now, someone can sign them. But since they're tagged "expiring", you're still allowed to re-sign with your old team, no loss of chemistry. If you were made a full free agent, you'd be locked out from resigning, lose your chemistry.

Just do it...players should be free agents right after the last game of the playoffs

+1 ..makes no sense to keep a player on a team when season is over.

you aren't kept on the team. when it says expiring you can sign with any other team that offers you a contract. you guys should really read the responses above

The fact that you "expire" is to help owners and coordinators figure out how to keep the team going and see who is leaving and staying. It isn't for the players, it's for the coordinators.

If that was taken away keeping our teams together season to season would suck hard.
