I will build a returner for season 7. But I am not sure, what caps I should aim for regarding carrying grip and toughness. Right now, I aim for 38+ grip and 35+ toughness. But is that enough? I mean I could use the cap boosters and max grip at 48 and toughness at 40, but I am not sure if thats enough (especially toughness)...

Any thoughts?

A max grip of 48 AFTER cap boosters is suicide. Especially if you have any sort of tackle breaking efforts at all.

I would probably put my bare minimum at 60, and that's bare.

For a returner? Really... Damn. I have to think about that. I plan to make him very elusive, so I hoped I wouldnt need that much grip... Thanks anyway!

Back to the drawing board...

I've got a returner with 50 grip (ronin)

and a returner with 40 grip (stunners until I cut him a week or two ago)

they just don't fumble very much

one is silver brace for impact - the other is gold.

I can't seem to get their fumble stats to come up - so can't post them here.

That's insane. My returner is maxing out at 34...and he just won ROTY.

Sure, if you want to sacrifice all those points to Brace for Impact.

You don't want to be an elusive returner. The return dynamics don't support it.

well - lol hall of fame...but my guys are #2 and #8 -- doesn't seem like that much of a sacrifice to me but to each his own. That's the beauty of this game -- different build paths can still be successful.

Both seem to be build towards speed, right?

But if I would want to build en elusive returner, I wouldnt need 60+ grip? I would never build a power returner/runner with 48 end grip, I know that. But for an elusive returner it might be okay? Even, if he is not very effective

Brace4Impact would be my first choice for the player.

You can supplement with Brace for Impact, but imo that's a dumb option given the possible selection (Grip is not an expensive skill). I'd also put building an 'elusive returner' in the dumb category.

But hey, if you slam your head against a brick wall enough times, you might just break through.

Sure, but it is very 'expensive' to get a high enough cap, at least with a WR. You have to sacrfice a lot of attribute points.

Didnt notice that you think it is a dumb idea

Thanks for your input. Maybe I try some FB return builds.

#1 returner of all time GLB2 is a WR. Works fine if you can figure out where to strategically make cuts. http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/player/6509

You really give me headaches... It took me a lot of time to get an elusive returner build that I liked, but now I want to do a power returner (was my initial plan, when talking about it to the future owner...).

Would you take a look at my test build?

http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/player/107153

I would max: return/carry awareness, sprinting, quickness, power running, carry grip, conditioning, balance
get intimidation to 50 and heart, toughness to 35.

Probably in the end it would look a bit different because of the cap boosters. But that would be my plan. Thoughts? Big mistakes?

I'm torn on this. I'm respecting my WR/Returner and thinking about not putting anything in elusive running and changing his carry style to Power, North/South or Combo.

What is his carry style set to?
