Just curious what others think.

What would you guess the percentage break down is in GLB2?

What % of success if determined by build? (may as well include in this: team focused strategies, ie run focused / pass focused)

What % of success is determined by playbook/tactics/scouting/coordinators?

What % of success is determined by the random number generator?

Id say around:

60% builds
30% tactics
10% RNG

i think it changes throughout the tiers though. In rookie tactics and RNG play a bigger part (maybe 50% tactics, 20% RNG, 30% builds). In later tiers builds seem to be the main factor (closer to 70-80%)

so acording to said theory. sense it is a common factor of my teams getting better as they mature, expecially ones i coach. that means i have bad tatics good builds?

chem i think matters a bit

All I really know is Rookie and Sophomore as far as builds & tactics go...

With that being said, I'd go with around:

60% Tactics
35% Builds
5% RNG

The key is building to match the tactics and having the tactics in place to use those builds effectively. You can't just have one, or the other - you need both, together.

In rookie at least, it's all about who can get the best angles, and at higher levels, skills start to make angles less important (by breaking blocks, avoiding blocks, outrunning defenders (and blockers), faster reaction times for a QB, etc..) so I can see where builds will play a bigger role as the levels get higher.

80/20 sounds about right. You can be perfect in coordinating and you still get burned. Coordinating can get you closer to a win, but generally 4/5 times outcome will be builds, assuming there is a build gap.

I DC'd Sharks vs Pelicans which we were highly un-favored to win, and Pelicans still managed a final minute TD Drive for the win, as if our players weren't even on the field. I've had similar games coordinated on the Budapest Tigers vs Erkner, and Peeti's HB just muscled his way through the perfect playcalling to a win. It's generally a 20% chance of overcoming builds from my experience. And I'm generally coaching the underdog so this is from experience.

This thread is kind of comical when you consider some of the other threads in the recent and not so recent past. Like Galactic E's Frakkin kidding me thread or GL QB Rollout. Even if there was a consensus, it does not mean the consensus is right and it does not mean that corny won't inverse that consensus with a few changes to the core mechanics of the simulation engine. So it's kind of pointless to speculate.

Pretty much.

I very rarely work with tactics anymore.
