Just in case anyone misses it - announcement on the home page:

Make sure you check out the current status of your players! For the first time in GLB2, some of you will have players who will reach level 26 during the remaining games of the season, if you have used no boosts.

Note that once your player is level 26, he becomes a "Legend" and can NO LONGER PLAY IN REGULAR LEAGUES. Legend players will be dropped from all regular teams at the end of the season, regardless of if they have signed a contract extension or not. Legend players will only be eligible to play in CPU-run Legends leagues next season.

You can fend off old age by purchasing SP Boosts and Career Boosts to extend your player lifespan. Remember that free players get all SP boosts included as part of the free player package, so you should always get the included 30 additional games if you use these (a full season).

You cannot buy Career Boosts after a player has reached level 26, so make sure to do so if you want to keep the player around. Of course, you can also retire the player and get back a portion of the Flex Points invested in him (or the Free Player slot) back to make a new Rookie and start the process again!

You skill boosted. Full skill boost = 30 extra games.

This is more of a worry for nonboosters right now.

You get 30 games for buying all attribute boosts.

10 days from now:

"I signed a contract for a vet team, but my player is legend now? Why? I tried to purchase a career boost, but it didnt work... GLB is so lame! How could I know that this would happen?"

The thought just crossed my mind, what happens if a player has bought just one career boost (15 games). Does he get to play half the season then he gets shuffled off to the retirement home?

Large chemistry penalties and stops accumulating stats.

One season by default.

Buying all skill boosts gives you a second season.

When a player reaches Legend status are they still eligible to retire and get back some SP's?

Or must they be put down before reaching Legend in order to get some points back?

Yes. But you only get the Flexpoints when you retire.
