Pacific Pro League Championship
It’s been a long season, with some shocking upsets, great matchups, drama, and certainly no lack of passion. Preseason Predictions and Analysis proved to be way off and the teams that I expected to be among the time, have become bystanders to greatness.
When the smoke clears and the dust settles, one team will reign above the rest, the question is, will that team be from Oceania or Southeast Asia? Both of these teams will meet again in World League perhaps but right now, they meet for certain, for the granddaddy of them all, the Pacific Pro League Championship Trophy!
Dirty Island Gurupies @ Carthage Clash
DIG is a team that first of all, really surprised me at the beginning of the season, while I expected them to be really good, they didn’t look it. I said multiple times that they really needed to get a firm ground to stand on, that they really needed to find a way to turn things around and they did just that, so much that they are now vying for the League Trophy. It was a hard fought matchup, against Dallas, where neither team necessarily excelled offensively, however, DIG did more with their opportunities. Going into Carthage they have got to protect the football better, 2 Ints and a fumble that they were fortunate to recover is not the way they’re going to want to play against Carthage. Defensively they have proven that they are as legit as it gets. For Carthage, last week was a breeze, they steamrolled OFOTD. The biggest factor in this game was that OFOTD threw 5 Interceptions and passed the ball for just 32 yards. Neither team ran the ball particularly well, but defensively, Carthage might just be the best in the league, having said that, they also have to limit their turnovers.
This game is a very difficult game to predict because it wouldn’t be a shock to me no matter who won. But as it is my custom to make a prediction, I shall do so, despite my indecision about which way this game will go.
Prediction: Carthage Clash 28-24
