Pacific Pro Playoffs: Round 1
Southeast Asia Conference
#8 Colonial Marines @ Dead Presidents
I’m not going to lie to you, I really want to sit here and talk to you about this game wasn’t close in the first meeting, about how the Marines lost by 62 points, and that there’s just no way that CM is gonna pull this one out….but history, I think, could repeat itself. The Dead Presidents cannot allow themselves to fall victim to a 100% Run Stopping Defense like they did last year, it has become evident this team is not capable of passing the football, so they won’t, so the only requirement of the Marines is that they come to the field with a good enough run stopping defense.
Prediction: Dead Presidents 50-3
Yo Mama @ OFOTD
The first meeting was a close loss by YM, honestly, I’d like to say it’s going to be different this time but unless they do a better job protecting the football and a better job capitalizing on the likely turnovers by OFOTD, they aren’t going to change the results. OFOTD did just as bad a job at protecting the football, but they did a better job at making the turnovers in their favor count. This time they’ve got to do a better job all around.
Prediction: Yo Mama 21-20
#7 Outlaw 1%ers @ #2 Carthage Clash
In S44, the 1%ers look to be a very good team, right now, this one is over.
Prediction: Carthage Clash 65-14
#6 Addicts Relapse @ #3 PRDM
To no surprise, this game wasn’t very close in the first meeting. In this matchup, PRDM has vowed they will not be upset again in the first round, I believe them. Unless Addicts can find a way to change their fortunate, they are simply not going to pull off this upset.
Prediction: PRDM 55-14
Oceania Conference
#8 Williamsport Soul Reavers @ #1 Whatever
I’ll keep this one short and sweet; Whatever has a bye week in round 1.
Prediction: Whatever 75-0
#5Dallas Paladins @ #4$in City $yndicate
Sin City has shown the ability to look impressive and disappointing at different times this season, Dallas has fared pretty well over all given the expectations imo. The last time these two teams played each other it was a 42-34 victory for $C$ in a game where despite a shootout through the air, $C$’s running game was allowed to absolutely go off for over 300 total yards and 4 TDs. The key to this game is going to be whether or not Dallas can contain them in this matchup.
Prediction: Dallas Paladins 31-28
#7 Asmara Freedom Fighters @ #2 L.A. Resistencia
The last time these two teams played each other Asmara fell just short of victory, but if you looked at their offensive production or rather the lack there of, you wouldn’t know that. They barely mustered any offense at all. In fact, outside of some Defensive scoring and FG kicking, there was basically no production. If Asmara even wants this game to be remotely close they are going to have to find a way to produce some offense against LA’s defense.
Prediction: LA 35-14
#6 DIG @ #3 Razorback Nation
Once again, another close game that gets a rematch; 38-24 in the last meeting RN took down DIG. Turnovers killed the Gurupies’ chances of winning the first matchup, with 2 interceptions. In this matchup DIG has to do a better job of protecting the football and playing more sound defense, they cannot allow themselves to be decimated on the ground by RN’s rushing attack the way they were in the first game.
Prediction: Razorback Nation 24-21
