Do you think high deflection would cause more deflections and less INTs? So, instead of going for the INT, a DB with high deflection would rather bat the ball down than catch it?

If its based on positioning, wouldn't zone defense put the DB in a better position for an INT?

Yes...I play zone every play. I've had a couple of INTs this year but hopefully that will rise as the seasons pass. A lot of times my DB will jump in the air and just miss an INT. I think once they get enough footwork, quickness and pass coverage, they will be in very good position for the INT.

So if I understand this correctly, there is a "chain of rolls"? Meaning, a roll for deflection, then a roll for INT, etc.... So if the roll for deflection fires and "hits", then the DB will deflect the ball? So he will never have a chance for the INT roll? That is what I was talking about in the OP. Unless I am not understanding this "chain of rolls" correctly.
No, you can pick a pass off after a deflection. You can also pick a pass off after a KL or dropped pass if you're close enough to the play when it happens.
what we don't know is if you "must" win a deflection roll before you get an INT roll. But it certainly seems to help based on some builds I've seen.

There are multiple rolls in the interaction. It's not a one time deal or an a or b situation.
For example, again assuming some borrowed code from GLB1, you have an initial roll to determine if you even attempt the INT. And that's completely separate from actually trying to intercept (physically catch) the football. Long story short, the interception can come at multiple phases in the chain of rolls. Deflecting won't override that int opportunity. If you see your player go for the deflection, it's because he failed the int attempt part of the interaction.

Yes, when the zone defender is in position and the build matures, INTs will go up.
