Forum > Suggestions > Game Improvement Idea: How About 'Commission Earnings' for Agents
Link

Show me the money!

If the game is going to be centered around the concept of Agents then negotiating salaries needs to be a bigger part of the game. It will make it a lot more entertaining for the individual agent, especially for those who just want to create players and not have any kind of team management role. I recommend adding some stats for each individual agent (1)Lifetime Commission Earnings, (2) Current Season's Commission Earnings, and (3) Average Commission Earnings Per Season. The agent would get a % of each negotiated salary. For extra fun, you could allow agents to cash in earnings for Flex. You could also add the concept of 1, 2, 3, 4, and 5 season contracts with a clause stating if the agent or the owner turns inactive then the contract can be broken.

It wouldn't be much, just a little flex, just enough to entice or lure agents into spending even more real money. It's called business!

Yeah, I don't think giving away something for free that normally costs money in exchange for something that was given for free that's normally free is business.

I can't walk into McDonalds, get a cup of water for free, and then trade that water for a hamburger.

No, no, no...you got it all wrong. Instead of your McDonald's analogy think more of the business concept of bulk discount. Buy in bulk and you get a discount. All successful businesses do it. For the agent to have enough commission earnings to trade in for a bit of flex he would have to have a lot of players under his belt. Thus more money for Warrior General Games.

You already get a discount for buying in bulk.

Yep, and you as a business get more money when they do it, right? Then double your transactions and you double your revenue.

It would be like instead of 1 human being giving you $100, you get 2 human beings giving you $100 each.

The bottom line is it can be done to increase your revenues if designed in such a way.

Why stop at 2 human beings? Let's go to 10 human beings.

Except that's not what he's suggesting. Correct me if I'm wrong, Coach_Dean, but you're suggesting that this is a benefit that would focus on agents who are already spending enough cash on the game to make this a worthy investment.

He's not saying give away free hamburgers to the guy who comes in to McDonalds only for free water. You give away free hamburgers to the guys who are buying other stuff. (Which, in fact, McDonalds does all the time with special promotions and coupons.)

You have to structure that benefit system correctly and set it up so that the cost/benefit ratio benefits YOU as well as incentivizes agents to want to continue to spend real money and create more players.

What I think Coach_Dean isn't thinking about is that there is no real way for this to genuinely benefit agents- because all you guys would be doing is creating the illusion of added value to get agents to dump more money into the game.

Not to mention the accounting nightmare that would create on your side.

Just my ...fifty cents.
