I think I'm doing team ownership wrong. When I got my team, I couldn't find any players or coaches, and was left to basically create my own players. Of course, because I'm very new to GLB, my players are mostly trash.

I'm assuming you cannot win without superstar players, so what do you do your first year? I've attempted several things, but my last game I gave up 25(!) sacks.

I guess I just don't have to level of understanding as to what to do. Is there some sort of guide to first year team ownership? It feels like there are basically a small handful of people who dominate the game and the rest who just don't have a clue, which I'm not sure is good for the long term health of the game.

you can win without superstars - they help and are better - but not required.

building good players is a process. Be patient and watch lots of your games

If you gave up 25 sacks...you're either passing too much or running passing plays that take too long to develop

If you're still needing help on Monday - shoot me a PM and we'll chat. Otherwise it is possible someone will step up and help you this weekend.

Look at ALL the plays you took sacks on. Make notes on the following.

First: What was your QB's Energy and Morale at the beginning of the play?
Second: What was the play you called?
Third: How many ticks into the play did you take the sack on?
Fourth: What was the Receiver progression? Where they open? Do they have enough Route Tech and Sprinting in their builds to get open?
Fifth: Which lineman gave up the sack? Where they beat one-on-one or was it due to more blitzers than blockers?
Sixth: Did your HB/FB stay in? Did they help in protection? Do they need some pass block skills themselves?
Seventh: Who on the D sacked you? A Blitzing LB? Did they beat your lineman because of speed? power? Do they have Showboat?
Eighth: Did you scout the team you played? Did you look at their roster? Did you see what the builds were? Did you notice they had X Blitzing LB arch-types?

I could go on, but if you do this for every sack you took, you'll figure it out.

This is all good advice. I'll start to work slowly from the bottom.

Yeah, cutting the sacks down is the big difference between a bottom ranked human team and a mid-ranked human team. You take a lot of sacks, you are going to start losing the football in bad field position.

My S*s aren't actually that much better than the other players at their positions. I've got a S* QB and 4 S* WRs on my team, but that doesn't automatically mean that my passing game is going to be much more effective.
