Pacific Pro Week 7 Preview

Southeast Asia Conference

Komodo Game of the Week

Palembang Royally Drunken Monks @ Dead Presidents

I’ll be honest, last week the Monks played a much closer game than I truly expected but they did well offensively going 24/31 231 Yards and 1 Touchdown. However, their offensive line did give up quite a bit of pressure. Their running game went off combining for 120.5 yards and 2 TDs, Defensively both teams in that game had several missed tackles as well aside from that, they played very well. PRDM is going up against the heaviest run team in the league, the only team that frankly, never even passes the ball. Missed tackles might be at an all-time high in this game except that I genuinely feel like PRDM could be the team to slow down their running game, though no one else has been able to do it. This game, to me, screams defensive slugfest.

Prediction: PRDM 13-10

Oceania Conference

Newfoundland Roughnecks @ Sumatra Seahawks

Both of these teams right now are sort of hovering under the radar. I think that they’re both capable of doing more than they have thus far. Each of them have games where they’ve done well passing or running or even defensively and both of them have games where well…they didn’t do so well. In this game, it truly is about efficiency, yeah I know I probably sound like a broken record at this point but in reality, that’s what it’s about. Both of these teams have had up and down seasons thus far and they need to find firm ground to stand on. This needs to be the game where they establish themselves moving forward.

Prediction: Sumatra Seahawks 31-24

Outback Game of the Week

Dallas Paladins @ Razorback Nation

Both 5-1, both two of the Top teams in this conference, probably in this entire league, I’m not real sure it gets better than this (though I’m looking forward to LA/Whatever). It seems that what makes Dallas tick is their defense, that doesn’t mean they’re incapable offensively, they’ve done enough, but it is really their defense that is dominating games for them. For Razorback, especially in their last game, it’s been the passing offense; it’ll be a very interesting game watching a defensive strong team up against and offensive strong team. It should make for some lights out football.

Prediction: Dallas Paladins 21-20

With the way the conference is I am not sure it even pays to try at this point.

Hopefully he is right and the win over Sumatra means that New Foundland has found our firm ground to stand on. Our team identity has always been hot and cold for some reason.
