Yes, let's hope there's not a division winner at 5-9.

I'll go with Surge, Beers and Boys as the division winners.

Based on prior experience.

Let's see how wrong I am in 50ish days.

And the worst team in our division having a record of 9-5, heh. Yeah, crazy stuff.

Don't count out the All Stars! We will surely be in the hunt one way or another (even if we do not look like much right now).

Xars definitely has an impressive record.

No matter what happens hopefully the league is competitive. It is always fun to see how seasons unfold.

I wouldn't rule out anyone until I see the teams are fielded on day 1.

Xars has me to thank for his championship too. If I win the last game of the season, last season, I get into the playoffs as the wildcard instead of his team (and probably get mutilated by Akron - I had terrible luck against them). Instead me and my horrible chemistry lose what should'a been a fairly easy game

So for that, you're welcome Xars

Hahaha. Good stuff! You guys just reroll rookie teams or grow season after season and just rerolled at the same time?

Originally I had a sophomore team but wanted to incorporate my superstars into the team so I re-rolled rookie. Then last season after rolling rookie I ended up not liking how the team was handling certain situations due to build issues, so this season I'm re-rolling again, and I'm pretty sure I got it right this time.

We were in the same division last season, luckily we're not in the same division this season

Yup, thanks. Why did you change out your roster mid season?

Anyway, I'm grateful for the playoff opportunity. I wasn't that active in GLB1, so it taken me a few seasons of 2 to understand the dynamics of the game, but this past season was pretty good for my teams. Coached on 5, 4 made playoffs, 4 won championships: 1 I didn't do much, 1 I was just DC, the other 2 ran all the strats. Weird thing is I would have guessed that MCD would have been the best team and that's the one that missed the playoffs. I did all the O and D from game 2 until mid-season when Boss took over after the 2 ties we had.

Your learning curve really accelerates when you start doing both O and D and really try to gamplan against each opponent. Scouting other teams, building a gameplan, seeing how it plays out, re-evaluating, etc. gives you great insight. Plus you get to see what builds are and how they perform over time.

Last seasons LZ Boys was intended as a one and done so I wouldnt compete against MCD. This seasons LZ Boys have been built for the long term. Doubt it'll be a dominant team with only 2 S*, so I'll just have to be happy with the stat machines I've created.

Haha. S* players are great and all but do not necessarily win championships on rookie teams. Last year was my first season as OC. Have a decent rookie playbook at this point. Offensively I make tweaks throughout the season. I imagine there is much more game planning needed as a DC though. Maybe I will give DC a shot someday but need to get the offensive stuff locked down before I even think about anything like that. I will not be rerolling after this season as I believe I have good stat caps and want to see how it translates at the pro level. Anyway, always nice to meet people and chit chat here and there since there is so much waiting time between progressions. Haha.

2 reasons.
On my first sophomore team, I never allowed more than 17 points in any single game on the season...going 23-6-1 (and still managed to miss the playoffs - similar to last season). So I had that as a benchmark, which my defense was failing horribly at. I was way to vulnerable to the run last season and I wanted to try out a zone blitzing scheme to add more pressure to opposing offenses. Passing I could shut down without too many issues (see the TT game).
And my offense couldn't block on anything longer than a 2 second pass attempt, and when I did get a pass off none of my receivers could catch. I'd never gave up so many sacks in my life...lol.

Since you can create rookies with experience I figured I would try different builds to watch their effectiveness...if it worked, I'd keep it, or not work and I'd re-roll again. Well you can see how that went

I used the last 3-4 weeks to tweak stuff to use in this season so I don't make the same build mistakes.

I've gone for more extreme builds as time has progressed. In the beginning, I did a lot of 5's with some higher. Now I drop a lot of attributes and I'm more willing to go to 1 on some builds. I have some ideas about player builds and creating, stocking, building and managing a team through build cycles, playbooks, etc. that I'll probably write up in a New Team Owner guide.

Suffice to say, I use a lot of 8s combined with a 1 and another low value.

I'd say the most important attributes are, in rank:

Agility - technique is (almost) always important - should be an 8 attribute

Awareness & Confidence - need solid values here to build a good long term dot - min of 6, better if 7

Strength & Speed
- you either need Speed or you don't; you either need Strength or you don't - one should by pretty high (8) and one should probably be low (1)

Stamina - because of cap extenders you can get away with a 4 Stam on non-S* builds or even a 3 on some S* builds (like lineman). Think of cap extenders (15 skills points) as being equivalent to 1.5 attribute points. Stamina solely effect Conditioning, so it's a good target for using Cap extenders. One skill that has a high, direct correlation to a single attribute.

I can agree with this in most scenarios. Workhorse trait is also a great trait to take to offset decreasing Stamina (if there is no sure fire 3rd trait to use). I still like to have some speed or strength regardless as I hate to drop either to 1 in most cases (more so speed than strength). Agility definitely seems to be the bread and butter in GLB2 though for sure. I think most people fail to see the importance of awareness and confidence though for sure.
