Wont work, not all players can invest points into all skills. So a HB cant put points into cov tech or man/zone awareness, while a CB cant put points into most running skills. Additionally, even if all players could put points into every skill, you could never come up with at least a half decent build. There is no chance you build two players with the SPs of one and get a player that can outplay a one-postion-player. And the last reason this suggestion is bad: You would have to open all depth chart slots to all players, which means you would see HBs playing QB, Safeties playing DE and WR playing TE or some other kind of exploit people would figrue out within minutes.
