Yeah, yeah, I know the title might encourage trolling!

But seriously, it seems that the blue circles are simply deeper zones than the yellow ones, but do they also indicate something else?

Also, does anyone know if a player uses zone or man awareness when covering a zone on a man coverage play?

We'll I've noticed while a safety is playing in a yellow zone coverage on a man coverage play his eye on the prize SA fires, so I would have to make the assumption that it will use zone awareness because he is playing zone. The blue is more of a don't let anyone get behind you man coverage or the help over the top if you will. You need this for SAs like eye on the prize to work.

This might help. They stole the playbook from madden and those are the colors madden uses.

Yellow is an underneath zone, so eye on the prize is able to fire. Any player that is playing in any type of zone, blue or yellow, will be using zone awareness. It doesn't matter if its cover 1 man under or a full zone play.

And yes yellow zone = underneath coverage, blue zone = deep coverage, arent there purple zones as well? These should be curl zones to cover medium outside zones. madden had light blue zones, these were flat zones to cover outside zones close to the LOS.

And this:
