#1 The Boogie Men vs #3 Doinitin Djibouti 2.0

After 3 games against Run GLB and 2 against Springfield, they finally meet a new opponent in Doinitin Djibouti 2.0. TBM have been in the top 5 (3?) all season, generally swapping the top spot with Run GLB, who are the only rookie team to beat them this year. DD are undefeated in the league but have lost 6 ladder matches, most of the earlier in the season, and are only recently making a push for the top spot.

DD have a strong running game backed up by a solid passing game. TBM are almost a pure running team, mainly behind their two running backs. Their QB’s do feature in the running game though. Both teams won their first playoff games and will have their final matches to plan for as well. They have played two scrimmage games with 1 win each. I predict DD to sneak a win and make a play for the #1 ranking.

#2 Doge All Go vs #6 CONVICTED

After a poor start to the season where they started 6-6, DAG are undefeated in their last 17 games and have shot up the rankings as a result. In contrast, Convicted started 7-0 but have lost 6 games since then, including their last 2. They second of these loses was their first playoff game in what was a big upset against the #32 ranked Bucharest Black Plague.

DAG are the #1 passing team and really never run the ball. Convicted are a balanced team with a greater emphasis on running the ball. They have lost their last two ladder games against Dublin, who are another heavy passing team. Given this, I don’t see Convicted stopping DAG’s passing attack and predict DAG to win and keep up their push for the #1 spot.

#4 Dublin Wolfhounds vs Tortunga Pirates (Sophomore)

Dublin has won the boobie prize this week and have to play a non-rookie team. At least this time it is only a sophomore team and not a journeyman team like the last couple of times they won this coveted prize. So Tortunga’s players are only twice as good as Dublin’s instead of 3 times. As Tortunga were a playoff team, I am not sure what they are doing down so low in the rankings.

It is hard to see Dublin winning. Even though a few rookie teams have beaten or tied with non-rookie teams, they are usually inactive or have CPU players. Unfortunately for Dublin, Tortunga has a full roster of active players. A loss here for Dublin will surely mean the end of their chance of getting to #1.

#5 Run GLB vs #10 Torchwood Institute

After being in the top 3 spots most of the season, Run GLB has hit a run of poor form and an upset loss in their first playoff match against #13 Syndicate Legion has dropped them down to #5. It seems a change in strategy from a heavy run team to a more balanced attack gave them a big victory against Syndicate in their last regular season match but was not as successful in their playoff match. Torchwood have been in and around #10 all season but when they finally break into the top 10 they are beaten to fall back out again.

Now that Run GLB are out of the playoff’s what will their game plan be? Will they go back to their heavy run or will they see how their balanced attack works in their last few games? If they go heavy run they should have a comfortable win but if they don’t and Torchwood don’t go all out to stop the run it will be closer. I predict Run GLB to win.

#7 Creek Valley Beast vs #8 Boobs

After a good start CVB lost 8 games in the middle of the season, however they are currently on an 8 game winning streak. Boobs started off strong starting 5-0 before TBM brought them back to earth. Since then they have lost 7 more with 1 tie, however they have generally been in and around the top 10.

Both of these teams won their first round playoff matches so have their league finals to plan for. Both of these teams focus on running the ball with a reasonable amount of passing mixed in. Boobs have better offensive rankings while CVB have the better defence rankings. It should be a close game and I think Boobs will pull off a close win.

#9 I've Never Had Sex vs #13 Syndicate Bayou Bengals

The Virgins had an up and down start before a run of 9 wins took them high in the rankings. Since then they have lost a few games to drop in the rankings. The lost the tie break for the wild card in a strong league, so only have the ladder to play for. SBB have had a strong league performance losing only once, but losing their last 5 ladder matches has dropped down in the ranking.

The Virgins are almost a 100% rushing team, mainly behind their S* QB. SBB are also a running team however they do pass the ball 25% of the time. SBB have the #1 rush defence so they should be able to stop the Virgins offence and win this game.

#10 Men Who Herd Cats vs #16 El Paso Chihuahuas

MWHC started off the season well with a 13-2 record, however since then lost 6 ladder matches. As their first two losses were also ladder matches, they are undefeated in the league and had a comfortable first round win in the playoffs. EPC have been up and down all season with a few winning streaks raising them in the rankings. They won a 4 team tie-break for the wild card spot, but were easily beaten by DD in the first round of the playoffs.

MWHC are mainly a passing team, running the ball 33% of the time. EPC are a run focused team with their two QB’s. Unfortunately MWHC #1 pass defence will not be needed here, as their #6 rush defence is up against the #2 rushing offence. MWHC #2 pass offence is up against EPC #8 pass defence, so MWHC have the advantage here. They have met twice recently in ladder matches and MWHC have won both encounter and I expect them to continue that winning streak.

We were built to run, run, and run, but the nerf to the running game hurt a lot. Plus the OOP that we were going to build around got raised too much. Next season, we'll be back on top, only thing that will be able to stop us will be chemistry issues early in the season and Corndog's nerfing ability.

Awesome writeup!

Should be a great defensive battle for us against DD2.

I hope your team can pull off a small miracle against tortuga too. Its garbage that some teams have just had bad luck drawing more higher tier teams and I hope that doesn't prevent you guys from a shot at #1.

GG DD2. My defense didn't line up how I intended but it wouldn't have mattered because you game planned the crap out of us! Hopefully the next time we meet we give you a little bit more of a challenge.

GG! I thought we had a good gameplan for you guys, but didn't think it would work out that well.

When I realized my blitzing OLB with no coverage skills was covering WR4 in your 4WR sets I had a feeling it was going to be a long day.
