I'm considering adding a rookie superstar to a sophomore level team with the idea that within a season he would pull about even with the guys who were a year older and then pass then eventually and be a better than average player - at some point he'd move to a team of his true peers

but I'm wondering if anyone has experience with a 'younger' superstar and if they are able to contribute even though a year too young?

Rookie S* won't work in Soph but a soph S* works but only really well half way through the season. Needs some time to catch up.

About two thirds of the way through Soph, a superstar is pretty much up to the players a tier above, as seen by http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/player/59934 and http://glb2.warriorgeneral.com/game/player/28916 - still some slight advantages for the older player, but it's negligible. A journeyman superstar, though, is likely better than most seasoned folks.

I wouldn't do it with a rookie if you want to be a top 5 ladder team, but I'd happily do it with older tiers.

Wasn't this pretty much what Chicago was doing before the owner disappeared?

Arent superstars a tier lower still higher salaries than normal players? As in an equivalent seasoned S* costs more than a non-S* journeyman? Seems like that would kill the idea of any team stacked with one tier down S*s, and rightfully so

I'm paying a lot more for my superstar even though he's a season younger. Not as much as I would be paying for a superstar at the same level (were there any), but still a lot more.

It's also a S* on a High contract. It'd be a lot closer if he was just a medium contract
