Anybody seen that this is a negative?

Inversly, you see it as a positive? I'm not tested enough either way to tell you one or another. Only that my QB is on a low level team going against way higher levels and I do not have it clicked thinking that I need to dump pass more avoiding the pass rush.

I dont use it. I throw many long balls through out the game.

I figure the QB will only pass it when the player is open anyway and if there is time to why not favor a long pass! My gm said he has read that it is a bad thing to do but I just don't see it.

that should have to do with team tactics and players getting open right?

My worst games when I experimented by turning on long pass, it gets real ugly if you set it on and your gameplan is the inverse of it

I let my QB (http://goallineblitz.com/game/player.pl?player_id=104530 ) favor long passes when the opposing Secondary isn't too scary, and I'd say he's pretty succesful with it (he pulls off stuff like this from time to time: http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?pbp_id=8914971 ).

It must be stressed that he has awesome receivers to throw at, though. And a solid arm.

Lol that protection is insane, I think unless your playing cupcake teams it would be asking for trouble.

We promoted to WEAAA #2 for this season and like many others, that opponent outlevelled us (by 1.32 levels on starters at the time), so I wouldn't exactly call them cupcake. He's even getting hurried on that play, but of course someone will always throw "cupcake" and laugh at you whenever you post a great play.

It's not the only time he's thrown great passes - look at his rating & yardage, or this 4th qurater drive: http://goallineblitz.com/game/replay.pl?pbp_id=9261861 (just click Next Play till he's in the endzone) against a (10-1) team in the 15th highest level league in the world.

But whatever, man.

I think it determines which reads he makes first. If the play contains deep-post or fly patterns, for instance, then regardless of what read he SHOULD make first, he'll make the deepest routes first. At least that's what it's looked like when I've used it. It can be effective if you know you can get a mismatch deep and set your pass % accordingly, but it can bite you in the ass, just like favorite receivers can.
